Making a change for the New Year!

Among many of the same resolutions for every year, I am also making a HUGE goal for myself! Resolutions are on the backburner for now. It always consists of me losing weight, and although I know I need to and I will... eventually... I want to do something that I LOVE! Because we all know I don't LOVE to workout. :)
So my goal is starting a new blog and being the crafty person that is hiding inside of me. I want to be a well known blogger, a well known crafter, well in the blog/craft world at least. I don't ask for much. I really have the want and the drive for it. So come January 1, 2011 I will be going full force on this and I will be moving to a new blog, I've created "CRAFTIFIED!". If you go to the link, you can see it is in the VERYYY beginning stages. I hope to have it all done ASAP! I want everyone to be able to send me their craft ideas, I'll be having giveaways, sponsors, highlights, guest posts, and I showing all my ideas and well... the possibilities are endless!
Crafting can mean soooo many things so I'm including them all, sewing, scrapbooking, stamping, art, and anything else you can think of. I'm open to ideas!
So PLEASE join me (in my non-begging voice)! Help me complete my goal for 2011! I am thinking positive and I hope it's a wonderful year for everyone!

A Happy Little Present.....

Today is our "Company Lunch" and we do a gift giving/taking game... I figured I would MAKE my gift this year! I can't even remember what I gave last year so anyway I think it came out great, so great that I almost wanted to just keep it and give them a gift card! :) Just saying.....

Okay so I started out with more supplies than I needed, or that I ended up using. I always get so excited going into the Dollar Tree and I have all these great intentions and then it goes out the window. So total cost for this was actually $2!!! I started with this....

1 plain wreath, wide white ribbon (that I already had), really narrow red ribbon (that I also had), a little white frame (take a good look because this is the ONLY picture I took of the "before" of this frame), some red canvas material, and snowflake embelishments (which I didn't end up using).

Ok, so above is the wreath alone, she is the star of the show, she's a beauty! Orrrr not yet anyway...She needs a major face lift!

OH and by the way... I'm soooo not good at tutorials like this, while uploading pictures I realized that I forgot to take pictures of several steps, bear with me and imagine... :) Above you can see more of the unused embellishments, I will use them later in cards and other decorations I'm guessing. So anyhow, I used the wide ribbon to cover the entire wreath, I just tacked it down from time to time with some hot glue in the back, make sure you pull the ribbon tight to keep it from "bubbling" in places you don't want.

Here is the finished white ribbon wrap. Not too shabby eh?

Apparently it doesn't lay flat but I won't worry since it wasn't meant to lay flat in the first place :) By the way.. this is where I start missing steps.

So start imagining.... imagine that that little red flower is NOT there and I'm still showing you that I'm wrapping the narrow red ribbon over the now covered white wreath. Ok. Got it? It's really simple, just wrap the red ribbon, tacking every now and again and ta-da!

Ok, now time for the "flower" which I feel horribly about because I saw this flower being made on a blog somewhere and I don't remember where, and since I blog hop ALLLLL the time I lost track of it somewhere, so if it's your idea, let me know and I'll link you up! :) So I started out with fabric circles like above....

Imagine me folding this circle in half, tacking it together with hot glue, and then in half again, and more tacking with the hot glue. After doing that with about 3 circles, I glued them all together at the tips to creat a "flower/pom-pom" effect that I thought looked nice. I used a total of 3 circles for each flower, so a total of 12 circles, I used the inside circles of a masking take roll to trace out the circles. I hot glued them all to the wreath to make a full little bunch.

Ok, so remember that frame I told you about at the beginning... yeah that one, the white plain one... I figured it needed jazzzzzing up. So I cut out some of the same fabric I used for the flowers and I covered the frame, not completely though, the fabric hangs over the top edges so you can still see the white sides of the frame. It's all about imagination here... Maybe I should rename this blog to Imagination Station???

So anyway, I got this "Happy Holidays" tag from my Cosmo papers, I just cut it out and put it on some white card stock that would fit in the frame.. ta-da. I got these little sparkly embelishments a while back, so I don't know the brand or where I got them from. So the silver ones I put on the frame and the red ones you can see I added to the wreath itself.

I added white ribbon to the back of the frame and hot glued the ribbon to the back of the wreath, then added red ribbon to the top of the wreath so the recipient can hang it :)

So there it is! It didn't take long and I love it! And most of all it only cost me $2 so I'm happy! :) I hope they like it!

I made a Christmas Countdown!!!

Yeah you read that right. I MADE.... Yes... craftiness has happened in my household this weekend. I am proud... :) You should be too!

Ok, so I googled to the ends of the Earth looking for a Christmas Countdown I liked, something I could replicate without paying an arm and a leg. This was my solution.

I found this wooden tree at Hobby Lobby of course, it was on sale, half price so all I paid for it was $5.00! It's about 3 feet tall and has a bunch of holes in it. I'm not sure what it was originally meant for but I made it to be something else.

Ok, so I picked out some green paper and traced each section of the tree, cut it out, at the bottom of each I added about an extra inch for overhang on each section.

I made little fringe cuts (the extra 1 inch) across the bottom of each section.

I curled the bottoms of the fringe up with a pencil so it was more 3 dimensional :)

I applied Mod Podge to the wood, then to the back of each paper section, put the paper on the wood and applied more Mod Podge over the top of the paper to make it glossy and hard.

This is a good view of the tree fringe and the progress!

You can see how the gloss makes it look so much better!

I used my Cricut to cut out 25 white 1 and a quarter inch circles, I also picked 5 patterned papers and cut 5 of circles of each paper in the same size. White circles will have the countdown numbers, patterned papers will act as the tree ornaments!

These are the itty bitty numbers I cut with the Cricut, size was 3/4 inch.

I got out my red inkpad and rolled the white circles in the pad to make a red edge to pop out!

I Mod Podged the itty bitty numbers to the white circles, I had to use tweezers to get these on without messing them up and tearing them to shreds!

Tree covered, numbers done, I glued magnets to the back of the "ornament" circles. These magnets have one sticky side to them, the sticky side will go on the tree.

All complete and ready to go on the tree!

Closer again, you can see the paper on the trunk too!

I also added magnets to the numbered circles. I put them over the ornaments that way we can take each number down as the day passes, each number will turn to an ornament and by the time we get to the Christmas the tree is fully decorated!

You get the idea! I hope!

I also made this little "present" to go with it. I made it big enough to fit the numbers in, so when the girls take down a number they put it in the present for safe keeping!

This really came out wayyyyy better than I expected and I LOVE it. I started this not really knowing how it would look or how I would do the countdown. I first wanted to make little doors but that was a little crazy. Then I wanted to use the hole it originally had but figured it would look messy.... So this is what I ended up with and I'm so glad! We will use this for many years to come! :)

Can you believe it!?! I almost can't but I was literally forced to do something crafty! Ok, maybe not forced but I did something and I like it. I think it needed an extra oomph but the recipient of said craft is not too into pink and shiny stuff so I hit a brick wall while designing this.

It's just a little name plate that she can put up in her new cubicle and apparently she likes skulls and crossbones. So This is what I came up with, simple yet so totally Barb! By the way, I totally freehanded and cut out this skull and crossbones myself. Toot Toot! I found the picture online, I drew it on black paper with a pencil and cut it out with my Xacto Knife. I highlighted all the areas that needed it with my white craft pen and VOILA! The big "B" is from Cosmo Cricket Letters and the "arb" I cut out with my Cricut. The little board was actually something that I won a long time ago and was just sitting in my office collecting dust and waiting to be refurbished. I'm sure it's happy now.

Orange and black and more ORANGE!

It's Halloween time again! I pretty much failed on the decorations department this year. I think it just creeped up on me and I lost track of time and I'm SUPER busy so not many decorations at all! One thing that we ALWAYS do though, is pumpkin carving. This was our go at it!

No guts no glory..... she took those guts out and enjoyed it!

Alex is becoming a perfectionist, she loves to draw and her design is awesome as always!

Although Mikayla loves everything creepy she stuck to the kinder, gentler theme of Halloween for her pumpkin this year, a wizard!

They all concentrated hard, figured out their design and go to work! It's always fun to see what they come up with. I love it.

Nevaeh had fun like always. I still have to do my pumpkin so I did some googling today to get some ideas and I think I'm ready to start... now to find the time!

The treeeee... at last!

It's been a long time coming, but can you believe.... I finally took pictures and uploaded them of the "tree" on my daughter's wall? It only took a few months but here it is finally! To jog your memory, this was the inspiration:

I knew that I wanted something similar and by no means was I going to buy a decal to put up because I figured I could do it myself. :) So this is what I came up with... and my daughter loves it, so that's all that matters.

It's not nearly as full but I really didn't want to "clutter" the space too much. I mostly just wanted the effect, which I got and I'm happy with.
As you can see, it goes all the way to the baseboards but you can't really tell because it's partially hidden with the nightstand, which is okay because I thought I was a bit dull anyway.
This is a bit more up close. You can see a little more details to the flowers. The tree trunk and branches were all hand painted on with regular wall paint. The flowers were a bit more tricky. I cut out the flowers with my cricut and rolled the edges with a pencil to make them 3 dimensional.
The center of the flowers are the flat sided marbles, I really don't even know the purpose of those other than I've seen people make magnets out of them and I've seen them in goldfish bowls. Who knows?!?
I spread out the flowers throughout the wall and slightly onto the next wall, to give the effect that they are being blown off the branches. My daughter loves this!
Here you can really see the 3-D look of it. Everything was hot glued onto the wall and I love it. I don't think we'll be redecorating this room soon so it's there to stay for a while! :)
I'll be back to show you the next ongoing project in my house soon! All to save a few bucks!

I HAVE SHELVES!!!

Can you hear the excitement? I only say it with caps and exclamation points because I'm THAT excited. Why you ask? Maybe because I've only bugged about them for ohhh sayyyy 1 year!! They are nothing fancy by no means... They are simple... They are dark... They are Martha Stewart and I love them!
You see... You may remember my closet, my under the stairs, should have been a coat closet, closet. I don't think I should have to waste an entire closet space just for closets. So it evolved, it was a Toy Closet/Room for about 4 years. My daughters loved it, it held all their favorite, most used and most loved toys.... until..... the toy closet ended up consuming my entire downstairs and I couldn't take it anymore. I moved the toys upstairs to another extra closet and claimed the stair closet as MINE!

I will have before and after pics for sure! I intend on using this closet as my "fabric" room! I can't stand the excitement really! I'm sooooo happy... So these were some of my manyyyy inspirations, and although I know I will not be able to turn my "closet" into one of these.. I can pretend, and oogle over these ones!

I love all the colors on both of these! Mine won't be nearly as colorful but I hope for it to be just as organized! Thanks to Patty Young over at ModKid for the above inspiration, she is awesome!
I want to color coordinate all the fabric folded in it's cubbies just like this. Thanks to Jenny from All Sorts for the above inspiration. She is amazing! I really can't wait!

I also want to look for a spool holder like the one above that was featured at Craftzine back in 2007. If I can't find one affordable I'm definately going to try to make one! Wish me luck!

It's ridiculous all the lists I make and then remake and forget and rewrite and nothing seems to ever get done. I won't repost "the List" because frankly... I'm sick of the list and all the pressure! haha.. Okay. So I might go back and see what actually got done on the list and one thing I know is that the flowers on my daughters wall still are NOT done, I started, put some up, ran out of flowers and had to cut and curl more. I finally did that but they are going up tonight! No if, ands or buts about it, I will get them done after work today. Why? Because my sister is coming into town and I'd rather not let her see it half done! Pressure! I work well under pressure! :)

For now though.. here is s sneak peak of the Cherry Blossom Tree wall.

The picture isn't the brightest (from my phone) but the complete pictures will be better... The tree trunk park is all painted onto the wall, flowers are all paper (4 colors), curled the ends with a pencil so they were more 3-D and added the marbles for the centers, everything hot glued to the wall :)

I'm sure my husband will kill me if we have to redecorate this room and take the flowers off. Oh well!

I figure I will need more than a few hours to do the flowers on my little girls wall, so I'm going to wait to do that for the weekend. In the meantime, I have only a few hours at home that I'm not sleeping, because my schedule is TIGHT!
Wake up, shower, get ready, make lunches, go to work, work all day, pick up the girls, go home, make dinner, get them ready for swim class, go to swim class, get back, bathe the children, put them to bed..... thennnn this is the part where I decide if I want to flop on the couch and watch the TV, read, get on the computer or work out (work out never, ever, ever, ever wins - but I still contemplate it).
So this is the little bit of time I will take this week, today or maybe tomorrow to create some tutu's for my little one. You see, she's in ballet and she's almost the only one in class that doesn't have a flurry little tutu, so she asked me for one finally. I got the tulle on sale at Hobby Lobby for .77 cents a yard, got a yard of every color and we'll see what I make!

So I finally started decorating my girls' rooms. There are 3 of them so it takes me some time to figure out what I want to do and how I will do it.

My youngest is all about everything being PINK, she loves every shade of pink and she really doesn't care what it is, so long as it's pink. Needless to say her room is like Pink Heaven. Everything is PINK! So pink that it has pink on top of pink, but of course it's different she says because they're different shades....

So for her room I decided on this....

......as inspiration only.... I wasn't prepared to go out and buy the decal for this. I'm grateful that I can paint with some artistic ability so I started working on it in her room, free hand.

This is the progress from beginning to present, which is not yet complete, I will be working on it more throughout the week and through the weekend I'm sure.

This is the blank wall, I imagined it and started painting...

The tree trunk looks a little skinny/narrow I know, but really it wouldn't matter too much because I was planning on putting the nightstand back where it was, as you can see below.

As I went up I just randombly put branches how I thought they should flow. I had no reason to do what I did but I looked at the example decal picture and kept going.

This was still a semi-rough draft of the branches. I did them with paint but I did a lighter outline of them and went back and colored them in with the thickness and darkness that I liked.

This is the finished copy of the branches, all painted in and dark. It extends to the right of the bed and passes it by a couple of inches. I didn't want it to just end where the bed ended. I'll post new pics on how the flowers come along :)

Wowsa! I must be losing my mind! Just kidding, I thought I'd drop in and let you all know the progress of my list... you know... THE.. list... or maybe it's to remind myself that there is actual PROGRESS going on. Whatever the case I'm able to knock a few thinks off the list and it feels good!
1) Complete all processing of photos
a. family shoot -DONE!
b. sorority pics - DONE!
c. vacation - NEARING THE END!
d. wedding - DONE!
e. swimming pics - I CONSIDER THIS DONE SINCE I HAVE YET TO TAKE ANY! :)
f. lake pics - 4th of July - I know they're coming -DONE!
2) Plan our next cruise - ACTIVELY WORKING ON IT!
3) Start Christmas shopping - I know it's early but I plan to be done by Thanksgiving with EVERYONE!
4) Finish decorating the girls rooms -BEGAN PAINTING DESIGNS TODAY!
a. picture frames - need to sand and paint and add photos, hang
b. refurbish some free light fixtures we got
c. complete some wall art for all 3 rooms - WORK IN PROGRESS!
5) Clean out all the girls old clothes and hopefully have a yard sale - 1 DOWN 2 TO GO!
6) Get shelves in my craft/business closet done and organized

I know you're probably wondering what I'm talking about when I say painting designs in the girls room.... Here's what I'm thinking....

These designs (above) will be coming from my daughters window onto a large open wall space that has NOTHING on it.... I think it will be fab!

This cherry blossom tree is actually a decal that I fell in love with long ago and I've been tempted to buy it. However, I am fortunate enough that I can paint it myself and save the money, but it will take some time. I started it today and I will show you the progress. :)

I, unfortunately, am not the woman I am talking about! However, I have had the time lately to jump around the blogsphere, which I really hadn't done in a while and I must say.... I am pleasantly suprised to have found some wonderful blogs! The one in particular that I have literally spent hours on, going back and looking through her archives is Jessica, she blogs over at Happy Together and boyyyyyy is she one amazing gal!

She does everything! Crafting, crocheting, sewing, painting, everything, literally.... She's like the MacGyver of crafting! I am jealous, I am green with envy that she can turn a paperclip into a swiss army knife, a piece of fabric into a car, and she can leap tall buildings in a single bound. Okay, well... maybe not, but seriously if you've never been to her blog you should be arrested. Go there... now.. and enjoy and take in all the craftiness and then go home and do something with it. Report back here with what you've created. I'm going to be doing some stuff this weekend and I really can't wait! I will be here to show you next week...

Imagine that!! I'll actually finally be posting something crafty! It's been like a year right??? Oh how I missed it and thanks to Jessica for kicking me out of my funk and getting the creative juices flowing!

Sooooo let's see... have I got ANYTHING done??? that would be a negative... a... big... fat... NEGATIVE.
Wait! After going through the list again it seems as though I have one thing I can mark off! That would be 1d... Wow... But to sound a little better I'm working on 1a and 1b right now, well in between writing this post and transferring all my photos to a NEW external hard drive. Apparently the one I had went crazy because I failed to turn it off when I was done. So it ended up overheating and killing it. The diagnostics went all whacked and I was stressing out, but I was happy that I was able to retrieve all my 14,000 pictures that were on it. Otherwise someone may have died... yes... died...

Anywho... Looks like I better keep working on my list cause it looks like it's gonna be a slooooow success!

I missed June by ONE stinkin' day!

Darn! I was at least trying to update this baby every month but as I sat at my computer and look to the right at my calendar I noticed that June had passed me by. It didn't even leave a note, a sticky, message, nothing... so sad....
Anywho... I'm here in JULY! I have soooo much planned I'm not even sure I can remember to list it all down. My to do in July is as follows..stay with me now... the list may be more than you or I can handle...

Monthly updates...

Well it seems as though I'm down to a monthly update... sad, I know but really, I just can't get back in my groove of this blogging thing. I loved to Blog, I like adding the pics and giving you updates, and now... nada..

So my monthly update is that I'm so busy it's a miracle I have time to eat, breath and sleep... It's been a crazy MAY! Started off with my husband's birthday, mother's day, brother's birthday, then it led into pictures, family pictures, baby pictures, and planning a major wedding for the end of the month.... Then started the hospital visits of both my sister and my grandmother in law. They both ended up hospitalized, thankfully it was local here but it was a rough few weeks and they are both in the clear now. Thank goodness!

So this week is still more prepping for this weekends wedding. What's more is that I'm IN the wedding! Usually I plan, I take pictures and leave quietly through the back door... Not so much this weekend. I'm planning, coordinating, doing flowers, favors, I did invitations, save the dates, RSVPs, wedding programs, etc. and I'm in it. So are all the girls, so it's going to be a crazy Thursday, Friday Saturday, bachelorette party/dinner, rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, flowers, flowers, flowers and then getting me and the girls ready for Saturday! Wish me luck! Lord knows I need it! :)

Other than that I am STILLLL working on my website, I seem to have NO time to finish up all the photo updates and verbage, and pricing. Hopefully after I finish this wedding, go and come from vacation I can work on it until it's complete! I HOPE!

I really want to get back into this and I really want to blog daily like I used to, well at least Monday through Friday.
It's hard though and Life sometimes gets in the way and well the rest is history. I will try to be better. When I first started this blog I think I had all of 4 visitors and 3 of them were family. However, somewhere in between, where I don't know, I ended up with over 12,000 hits! I don't know what happened or how or maybe it was a bug in my system. Either way it's amazing to see a number so high on this baby! So thanks... I will be back, soon, and I will be crafty, and I will prove to be a multi-tasker and do a million things at one time.. I promise..
I'm back on trying to lose weight again, I've talked about it from time to time and I really need to buckle down and do it. I was in the Army for goodness sakes, it's not like I don't know how to lose the weight! But when I do, I promise myself not to get back to where I am today.. it's a shame.. and awful shame...

I remember when I used to blog daily, and I used to put something crafty in here alllll the time. So where have I been? Well I'll tell you, working full time, 3 girls actively in school, violin lessons and dance lessons as well as getting my wedding and photography business up and running and trying to stay sane amid all that is what I've been doing.
I may or may not lose my mind by the time summer is here! :)

I do have to tell you though that I have regularly been shopping at Hobby Lobby still and found some excellent buys! I got some dress patterns, for $1.99 (McCalls) the other day, I plan to make some summer dresses for the girls, they will love them. They were excited just to see the patterns! haha... I love those gals! Anywho I will be doing crafty things in the future, I just have to find time to upload pics and update this darn blog of mine! I will...promise.. I will...

As for other things, I'm still working on my weight, and I have a double reason to do it now, I have a wedding to be in May and I'm going on a majorly, fantastic, beachy cruise in June so I need to put everything I have into the next 10-12 weeks and lose this butt! Since I'm recovering from knee surgery still I will start off slow but I have to quickly kick into high gear! Wish me luck, and on this St. Patty's day maybe the little green folks will throw a massive amount of luck my way! :) One can hope, and pray! :)

Sorry for being so absent here but life has taken over and I have been overwhelmed! I will get this up again, I just don't know when... As for now, I have been crafty, crafty in my photography and wedding business that is. I did manage to get a few blankets done for a set of twins, so here they are!

I found the fleece on sale for half off so these blankets were a bargain. I got them both done in a day so it wasn't bad. I cut ribbon to match the backing and sewed it through the blankets and then tied them in a knot.

I sewed the monograms first with the sewing machine and then again by hand. They weren't dark enough with the machine because the thread really sunk in the fabric tight. I printed large letters on the computer and then sewed through the paper. Once it was done I tore off the paper and ta-da, awesome monogram letter!

The parents loved the blankets and I hope the boys will love to snuggle with them! :)

I love October for many reasons... first it means that all the Holidays are nearing, then it means Balloon Fiesta here in Albuquerque, then it's my Birthday, then Halloween, and so on and so on...

Balloon Fiesta started on Friday and I love it, it's absolutely my favorite time of year here and it's so nice to be able to go on the weekend and take a million pictures of the beautiful, colorful Albuquerque skies.. It is the most photographed event in the world and I am one of those photographers. I got about 400 pictures on Saturday morning, woke up my family at 5:00 a.m. to go to the mass ascension and it was great, a little chilly but overall a great experience as always!

Here's a few pictures to show you what I'm talking about, I know I posted some a few weeks ago in anticipation of Balloon Fiesta, but here are Saturday's pics. :) Enjoy!

It seems like it's really on the verge of not being a crafty blog anymore, this saddens me, mostly because that means that I am not being as crafty as I once was. Truthfully, I have been so busy and when I'm not busy I'm tired, trying to recover from the busy part, and so on and the cycle continues. So, my question is, what do I do? Do I continue this "crafty" blog of sorts and hope that one day I will have something to add or do I delete this and start over?

I'm really unsure, mostly because I seem to have got 10,000 hits on my blog out of nowhere and now they are at a standstill again, I'm sad... I have not comments, nobody is barely acknowledging that they stop by here, yet I blog hop, I read all day and I get nothing in return.. So sad... poor... little ole me...

Facebook is my social life... sad....

okay... losing it.... now.... today... not like all the other times..
I am just so messed up, I can't remember what day it is, who has an appointment with which doctor, what I'm doing at work, forgetting school fundraiser stuff.
I think that most of it has to do with Facebook, it has consumed my life. It's really sad first off that Facebook is my only form of a social life. It's not blocked at work, so it gives me adequate time to fiddle on it EVERY DAY! I can keep in contact with people I normally wouldn't see or hear from. I get to see pictures of my family alllll the time! :) YAY!

So when does it become too much? Does too much Facebook consist of me sitting at work or at home or in my car (using my Facebook Blackberry application of course) and hitting REFRESH, REFRESH, because I just know that any second someone will add their 2 cents to something or update their status. I allllllso like to create topies on my Facebook that will create lots of comments. I like to see exactly how many comments I can create on one post. Yesterday I think I got 26 comments on one post.. yay me... Where's the trophy? Where's the money prize?

LAME, I know, but really, I think I'm losing it and I owe it all to Facebook... blah!

Wow... Me and the husband went to a concert lastnight... Blink 182, Fall Out Boy and All American Rejects, it was fabulous. I love all their music and I think they are all really good. So why did I feel soooo out of place there? Maybe because out of the 15,000 kids that were there I definately felt like the oldest ones there!

Everyone was like 15 to 17 years old or like 50 years old chaperoning their 10 year old! I literally could have taken my girls to this concert and minus all the cursing, would have felt more comfortable. Is that odd, am I old? Or am I over-reacting. I think I may have lost my sense in music, or maybe I'm just old... Have I mentioned... I FEEL OLD???

Feeling a little UNbalanced....

Okay, so I cut my hair back in February or March or something and I miss it... *tear* real bad...
So I'm letting it grow out again and it does all this funky flip up, don't stay straight, looking crazy stuff.. I decided to go a little crazy today and part my hair on the OTHER side... yes, more volume, a weird flip thing goin on with my bangs and I think I'm unbalanced now.

It feels like I'm walking around with my head tilted to one side.

It feels like when people look at me they are saying "OMG, she totally parted her hair on the other side and now she's wayyy off!"

So I'm staying in my office today, feeling awkward and I'm okay about it. I guess.... Needless to say I don't think I'll be parting it on the wrong side in the near future anymore...

Well in other news, I got all the processing of Senior Pics done this weekend, I'll be adding some to my Photography Blog tonight.
I'm also planning to go back to the gym this week to see if I can beat my times from last week.
I'm also reading a very good book, titled ESCAPE, google it. I read a quarter of the book lastnight so I can't put it down.

I hope to be out of work early today.. yay! Have a good one!

A little more soreness...

I went to the gym 3 days in a row, ran a little more than 3.5 miles a day and I'm paying for it... waddling like duck, in pain like a 90 year old and hoping this soreness goes away soon and the weight starts coming off...

I got a ton of wedding stuff and pictures to do this weekend, meetings, running around, processing, busy, busy, busy weekend. Somewhere in the middle I have to find time to keep up this workout schedule or I'm going to fall off real fast!

In other news my 7 year old decided that 2nd grade isn't challenging enough, she apparently needs more work to do, so yesterday I enrolled her in an after school computer class. She's such a brainiac, not that I'm complaining but geesh, sometimes she needs to take a rest! :)

So I'm sore today.... and the Balloon Fiesta!

Okay... I'm really sore, why you ask? Cause I finally got my lazy butt off the couch and went to the gym two, say again TWO days in a row. Why? Because I'm sick of being a hefty 5'2" woman with too much meat on her bones! Andddd I got a wedding to be in, in May and I really would rather I wasn't "the big one" of the wedding party! :) Just sayin', I think that's how "other" people that didn't know me would refer to me as... They'd see a picture, be like oh yeah but who's that "big girl"? That would be ME!

Anyhow... I'm gonna try real hard to get this weight off, even if it hurts like hell to walk for another 4 weeks, I'm going to get it done... finally!

In other news I thought I'd post some pics. In about two weeks is the International Balloon Fiesta here in Albuquerque and honestly this is my favorite time of year here. I love it! I take pictures almost every day of Balloon Fiesta and this will be the first year taking pics at the Fiesta with my Nikon so I CANNOT WAIT! Can you feel my excitement!?! This is amazing and I have got my girls to enjoy it just as much as me, so they don't mind waking up at 430 in the morning on a Saturday to watch the balloons! :)

The skies are so colorful for 2 whole weeks and it's amazing!

I love all the balloons but there are special character balloons too, over 100, and I just saw Smokey the Bear rolling into town 2 days ago.. They have trading cards for all the balloons and me and the girls are on a mission to someday get them all :)

I am counting down the days!

These are all pictures I took last year but I'll be posting more from this year in a few weeks. I can't wait!!!!!!!!

Sounds good to me, I'm also still trying to figure out the whole 12,000 visitors to my blog, and about 9,000 of them in the last month or so. If you know, let me know, then we can know together and I won't feel like such a moron because then I'll know what's going on, on MY blog. :)

If you don't know me, I'm a procrastinator, I'm also crazy, why? Well I insist on being busy every waking second of my life, which means I get little sleep because I'm always catching up on all the stuff I was procrastinating on. :) Ya see how that goes hand in hand. :)

I overwhelm myself completely because I work well under pressure. I enjoy having the feeling that I may or may not make a deadline but you will always get my best work. I recently started a photography business here in Albuquerque NM, it's called elizabeth poe photography. I am trying to work on my website, so don't ask... :) or not yet anyway. I'm also doing wedding planning, I fell in love with planning my wedding and I'm addicted to anything wedding related, movies, shows, cakes, favors, wedding styles, dresses, you get the idea. I'm addicted!
So it doesn't feel like much work to plan a wedding for me, while brides get stressed to no end, I'm their reliever, or I would love to be the relief they are looking for.

So while I'm still working a full time job, doing just about nothing from 8 to 5, Monday through Thursday, I'm still booking weddings, photo shoots and consultations. I love it. The busy life I'm living now is what makes me happy, I'm glad I can be of anyone's assistance. :)
I'm figuring I will be creating a new blog... my photography blog. I hope you enjoy it, I hope I can stick to it and you'll be able to see all my work. :)

I logged on about a month ago I think was the last time, I log on now and it's past 11,000!!! Can this be right? The less I blog the more viewers I get? haha....

I have been totally out of the internet blogging loop and ohhh do I miss it...
I miss blogging everyday, letting you all know whats going on. Yes all two of you that actually read this! :) I've been Facebooking like a crazy person because it's the only thing that's not blocked from work, I've been working at my regular job, going on vacation, and working on what seems to be every day that I'm off on my business. I wish I made enough on my side business to quit my other work. Unfortunately I think it's going to be a while before I can do that. So I'm taking pictures every weekend, planning weddings, processing photos and still trying to maintain some sort of sanity. In the meantime I have NOO time for crafting, scrapbooking, sewing, nada! I feel bad because I really want to scrapbook but I really have no energy for it. I have my mind racing all the time thinking about weddings, planning, my schedule, photos, and trying to figure out how or when to find the time to work out and lose some weight...

Anyhow I hope to keep up this blog better than I have been. Maybe I can start blogging from my phone, oh how I love my blackberry :) Yup.. I think that's the solution.
So to all my blogging buddies sorry but I'll catch up one day! :)

Geesh! How I cherish sitting on the couch and doing nothing! But... I can't remember the last time I had a full day of NOTHING! Saturday had a birthday pool party for the little ones to go to and another one on Sunday. So besides running around buying presents and packing, washing and repacking swimsuits and towels my weekend was full and over rather quickly...

I must say that First birthdays are a joy to go to, you know it's going to end up with a baby face covered in cake and frosting.. so Happy 1st Birthday Ava! She is too cute! My daughters got to do a lot of swimming so that ended up with a few good nights of sleep for them and they hated waking up this morning.. Sorry girls!

This picture is my favorite for the weekend... :) Nevaeh finally had enough of my pictures and was yelling, stop taking pictures of ME! So I took a picture!
Mikayla is trying to smile and show off her lost tooth all at the same time, it's almost working for her.. haha :)

I have been so busy lately that I completely forgot about blogging. It would help sooo much more if blogge wasn't blocked from my work computer :) but it is.. so I'm left to blog every other week or whenever I remember. I tried to do it every Friday but apparently my Fridays are more full than I thought. I haven't had much time to craft, but that's because I've been busy doing a wedding... Doing, as in I did all the flowers, bouquets, buttonierres, centerpieces, invitations, favors, decorations, and photography all day. So yeah, I've been uber busy with this and I love it. I really enjoy weddings so I hope that I can be very successful at it. :)

My company is Made By Liz, this part of the company includes anything and everything wedding related. My photography is elizabeth poe photography and I'm working on a website and an Etsy site so when they're done, you all will be the first to know.. or one of the first to know. As for now I'm pretty busy just by word of mouth and considering I still have my full time job I'm more than busy enough. :)

So I thought I'd share my favorite pic.. so far from this last weekends wedding. I am sure that I will have tons more favorites since I still have about 600 photos to go through so this one is my favorite soooo far. :) Hope you like it.

She was a beautiful bride and I loved helping her for her big day! You can see the bouquet I did for her too... Can you believe it's 3 dozen roses??? haha

Mondays stink!

Now that I'm on a 4-10's schedule with every Friday off it's great to always have a three day weekend but it makes Mondays going back to work about 10 times worse! I'm slow, driving in to work late, getting to work and realizing everyone gave me a pile of stuff to do on Friday while I was gone... and then putting everything off until Tuesday.. .So really, someone please, remind me why I even come in on Mondays???

To top it off, today I have a headache that won't go away.. it's lingering... telling me to go home.. and rest.. and sleep.. and leave the kids at daycare.. :)

Anyhow, if you didn't know I'm also doing wedding planning on the side, wedding planning = doing everything for the bride from start to finish, I think my job is to eleviate most or all of the stress from the bride. I do invitations, flower arrangements which includes bouquets, corsages, centerpieces, etc., favors and photography when needed... So far I LOVE IT! I wish I made enough money from weddings that I didn't need to come to my actual job... But I don't..

Well the only thing that hurts is that on my days off from "work" I'm still working... which means I get to stay up late and sit at the computer editing pictures and doing wedding stuff all weekend. I'm not complaining, this is my choice and I love it, I love being able to help a bride on the most important day of her life... but I'm tired... pooped, my arms hurt from tying little ribbons.. my head hurts from staring at the computer (facebook might also be to blame for that) and I just want to sleep all day.. :)

Anyhow... since I'm here and I haven't taken pics of all the wedding stuff I did this weekend. How about a picture of my gorgeous niece and nephew.. :) yeah that'll work. :)

Yay.. I {heart} them! :)

What'd you do today?

How was YOUR Sunday? Cause mine... well it was nuts.... First I delivered my first "wedding package" with all the pictures and CDs. Very exciting! I cleaned and cleaned and well cleaned some more.

When we first bought our house about 5 years ago the first time I walked in it, I noticed there was a little closet under the stairs (think.. Harry Potter) and I immediately said, THE GIRLS PLAY ROOM! Now I'm wondering... what....was... I... thinking???

It's always a mess and I'm the one that has to clean it up. It's insane, not a little mess. A mess like this!!!

A mess so bad that they can't walk in, they have to jump in and over stuff and hope that they don't step on something that stabs the bottom of their feet.

I have to admit that I'm partially to blame since I over-indulge in their toy buying and I get them things even when I know they have something similar or the same already... so I take that blame but really it was out of control. Soooooo, 5 trashbags later, and much more trash that didn't fit in the trashbags, which ended up filling our trashbin for the week (they don't pick up trash til Friday!)... I got this!
I've never arranged for the kitchen in the back but it's nice... it gives them a little cooking nook, and over on the left all the way between the kitchen and the white drawers is their tea set with the trays that are hidden away... AWWW it's nice, but I'm bettng it doesn't stay this way for long.. my fingers are crossed but I know it won't help much!

I'm back, can you believe it? Well it surely does help to have a new computer... I still have nooo time whatsoever but I've given up sleeping so I'm alright. :)

Well today I wanted to show you a pic of my new neice, Shea Marie, she was born on June 2, 2009 and she's adorable. I didn't get a chance to share these earlier so here they are... With a little of my craftiness. Here she is.. She's a doll!

I also made this blankey for her. I hope she likes it. :) I got some good Chenelle blankets at JoAnn's for Christmas and they were a great bargain and I couldn't pass them up. I bought them because we knew we would be expecting her soon so I saved it for this occasion.

The grey part that lines the sides of the front and the back of the blanket is the Chenelle part, the front is a yellow solid fabric and I picked out the animal print in the baby section of Hancock Fabrics.

It should fit the size of the crib easily and I hope she likes to snuggle with it later. :) It's very soft and comfy.

As you can see above I got the animal printed fabric and cut it in strips, wide and narrow and anything in between and I sewed them with a zig zag on top of the yellow fabric letting some of it show through randomly.

This is the final product, this isn't ironed and was straight from the hours on the sewing machine to taking this picture so forgive me that it's all wrinkly and a bit crazy... :)

A Father's Day Card

Well last post I showed you what a great gift my husband got me on a whim the day before Father's Day. It was great, it is great and I've got to use it and I'm estatic! So I thought I'd show the first card I made with it.... his Father's Day card :)

I wanted to do something other than Happy Father's Day or You're Number One or whatever... so I chose this. Thanks and Love... Thanks because he is truly the best father I could have imagined for our kids and love because well... we love him tremendously. I always have a hard time doing masculine cards but I don't think this one is too bad... :) I got a couple green papers and slapped em' together with love.. I traced the THANKS with a black sharpie to make it stand out more and I distressed some of the corners with some tearing.. I put the cursive love on top to make it stand out more in black.

I rounded th corners and in the inside I added anther green paper to the top inside to cover the sharpie tracing that came through and I added some of the same stripes from the outside paper for the inside to jazz it up.

Here's an up close of the THANKS and some of the tearing... Daniel said, ummm did you mess up, I said no I meant that... hellooo duh! haha :) just kidding, he doesn't always "get" my card style. :)

Final product - TA-DA!! Happy Father's Day Daniel and to all the father's all over... :) Hope you all have a great weekend! I'll be back soon.. PROMISE! :)

I'm an auntie again!

Well I missed a few Friday's I know, but it wasn't without good cause. I became an Auntie again on June 2nd, my sister had a little baby girl, Shea Marie, she is lovely and I got to spend a week with my sister and her family and it was great. No work, no driving an hour to work and back, no pick ups and drop offs, it was lovely. Here she is :)

I was gone last Friday because I've also been super busy since getting back from my sister's house. I did photos at a wedding on Wednesday and I've been computer shopping and going to birthday parties and having a major migraine for 2 days. Before I knew it, it's today, SUNDAY and where did my weekend go??? Yikes.

I will have tons more pictures but I have to go through them, hopefully I'll get my new computer, set it up and have it running it's rounds soon! :) Until then, happy crafting!

First of all I want to say be safe this weekend! I know there will be tons of bike riding, bbq's, drinking and fun, but please be careful!

Also, please don't forget what this weekend is all about and what Memorial Day is really about. There are thousands upon thousands of Soldiers that have given their life for our freedom, and there are still thousands that gladly sign their life away to continue that freedom. So please remember our Soldiers, past and present, Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard, Active, Reserves or National Guard!

Now on to crafty stuff... Today is the last day of school for the girls and I thought it would be a good thank you to the Mikayla's teacher if I made her something. I really liked her teacher, she helped her excell beyond what she could have done on her own or with my help. She pushed her and she motivated her and she was a good supporter of helping her get into the excelerated classes. :) Way to go!

In my many visits to their classroom I noticed that her teacher didn't have a nameplate on her desk so I thought I'd make one for her. :)

Here it is. I really liked it and she said she thought it was great and sooo crafty!

It was originally the top to a photo box, I cut the ends off the short side, bent it in half and began covering it with paper. The paper is from Paper Studio, called Oops-A-Daisy.

I got a pack of these big cardboard, glittery letters on clearance and I don't remember what brand they are, sorry, but they're self-adhesive and worked great for this.

The little letters are from a letter stack I found on sale at JoAnns for Christmas. I roughed up the edges with an Xacto knife and then with sand paper. I roughed up the edges on everything this same way.

The flowers I put together with a little lime grommet and roughed that with sand paper too. I used some swirly templates from a few cutouts in the Cosmo Cricket line for their Christmas pack. I used the Oops-A-Daisy papers for them too so everything would match.

It's simple, not too crazy but yet it's teacher-y, I think she liked it and I hope to make another in the future, maybe for another teacher or maybe for me for my office at work. :)

I know, I know, don't pass out; I'm blogging and I got pictures of a card I did! WHOA! I told you I'd be here on Friday's to blog and I try not to make a liar out of myself so here I am! I didn't post last Friday because I was on my way to NMSU to go to my cousin's graduation. Congratulations Hannah, college is a crazy thing to get through and you did it! We're all so proud of you!

NMSU's colors are red and gold, so I tried to keep with the theme, the colors are a bit off but I think I made the point :) Here it is :)I use the Cricut to cut out the big "C" of course, and I freehanded the "congrats" on the bottom of the C. I used some red patterned paper and crumpled it to break up all the solids and tore the edge of the red paper to create an edgey feel. I also sandpapered some of the yellow/gold paper too.
Here is a little up close, not in focus picture... :) I inked black around the "C" to make a definate outline when it met back with the yellow card part. I think it came out cute. :)

So here's the happy graduate, way to go HANNAH! :)
This was us, the family, in the crowd, do you think she noticed us??? hahaha... By the way this lady in the blue, she's not with us... But I decided not to crop her out, just because she's so happy!
There were 6 signs total but the pink and the green holders on the end were slacking when I took this picture! :) P.S. I made the signs too, so this is a double crafty post today! Way to go me! LOL. Oh yeah you see that guy in the black and white shirt trying to figure out his camera??? That's Jeremy, shout out to Jeremy and his honey Emily (she's hiding behind the congrats hannah sign) since they gave me hell for not posting to my blog in a while! haha

I have been so out of the blog world I think I'm lost! Help me find my way back!!
The good news is that I haven't been gone for no reason. I got this new job in September and I've been unable to log in to the blogger! Which I really can't complain about since, at least I have a job in these tough times.
Other reasons I haven't had time to check in on the weekends is that for one, it's birthday season in the house and so my weekends have been full, two, graduations are coming up, and three, I've been working another side job in my off time.. :)
I'm taking my hand at wedding planning, making invitations, flower arrangements, bouquets, and taking photos of various things. I really am enjoying it, it's tiring but it's something that I really like to do. I'll be posting some pictures soon and giving the link to my Etsy site. I just really have to get a new computer because the old 2003 laptop that I'm using isn't cutting it! Matter of fact, I'm lucky it's still turning on!!! haha...
I miss you all, I haven't deserted you, I check in on your blogs thru my blackberry sometimes and although I'm a lurker I still see all the fantastic and crafty stuff you're all still doing! I love it and I'll be back soon! I PROMISE!!!

NEW CAMERA!!!!!

I can't believe it! I've bugged my husband for over a year for an awesome camera, one that could replace my 4 year old Kodak. Don't get me wrong that camera has got me through thick and thin over the past 4 years and has literally taken over 10,000 pictures! So thank you Kody! (I name the objects that I love most-duh) But move over Kody, Niki is here and she's gonna stay!!! Yes! I got a Nikon D90 and I can't believe that I actually own it! Its the greatest thing ever! Well besides my family of course, but really its insanely nice and if I weren't in the parking lot of the movie theater waiting for the rest of the family to get out of their movie I would actually have a piucture of my camera to show you. But if you want you can just google Nikon D90 and check out how cool it is!!!
I'm sad that I've been pushed out of the blog world by my job, but I will be posting once a week at least, its my emotional release and I need it back! So on my day off I'll be posting and catching up on everyones blogs! Love you all!

I have neglected you my poor blog, my bloggy friends, my internets! I'm sorry.... I can't believe it's been a month since I posted anything, I would like to say I've been way crafty in that month and bombard you with all these new pictures of crafty stuff... but guess what!?! I haven't done much... booooo I know, I know. I'm ashamed too. I did do a Valentine's card for my husband that I never posted. So here it is. :)
Cosmo papers of course, this was part of the set that I won last year and I love them! I used the large X and O of course, I think the greenish hue broke up the reds and organges so it wasnt so bright and girly. It's still girly but I loved it. I did a torn piece of the same stripe paper, alternate side and added it to the bottom. Used some wavy scissors to cut around one of the hearts and popped it up with a lift sticker and ta-da....

For the inside I used one of the word strips and cut it into a few pieces to add my statement. I also cut a strip of the love birds and centered them so they bent in the center of the card. It's too cute! And below I don't think I ever showed you the awesome Christmas card that my daughter Mikayla made for her teacher in December. :) I know I'm extremely late!

She picked all the papers herself and decided how they would be decorated and put together. She had me cut out the snowman with an Xacto from an old card that was in my stash, added a red square for some pop, used the threading waterpunch for one side and picked out some green buttons to top off the flower and add some spark.

She found a little plastic rose in my button jar and used that under the sentiment. She wrote the Merry Christmas in white pen and ran out of room ma little but that's alright :)

Her teacher loved it of course and I thought it was fantastic! She is really creative and does her own little scrapbook journals that I love and I'll have to get permission to share those because they are a bit more personal. :)

I really hope to get back to posting every day or at least every other day! I will I promise.

Things here are crazy as usual, working, the girls, the husband and dealing with this darn economy! I'm changing work hours soon so I will have an extra day off in the week to hang out with my girls. I love it! It will be OUR craft day! I can't wait... :)

Lent? Anyone? I'm doing pretty good actually, I challenged myself to give up Soda, Chocolate, Iced Tea and Meat! I haven't slipped yet and I don't intend to. I have to give props to my husband too, he gave up MILK! If anyone knows him you'll know it's a great feat for him to give up milk for so long. Lets just say that he drinks so much of it that we should own a cow! :)

I just wanted to say Happy Valentines Day to you all. I love a day that celebrates LOVE but I really do think that you should celebrate it everyday. I have to say first and foremost that I have been lucky enough to have found the love of my life and I really don't know what I would do without him. He is truly the most wonderful man, and I guess today is a reminder for me to tell him how much he means to me since I might not always tell him. Maybe that's what Valentines Day is all about??? Either way I hope you had a great one.

P.S. Congratulations to Hannah and Henry. They got engaged lastnight! Woohoo!!

It's been a while.... but look what I got!

Well I know my blogging has been scarce! I miss the BLOG WORLD! Instead I'm forced to actually work AT work and apparently someone in our computer department thinks that Blogging leads to bad things so the Blog Network has been banned from our computer! Way to go smart guy! Way to ruin the ONLY social life that I actually have!

So anyway, I've been cleaning the office/craft room/sewing room and I purchased some fabric and a NEW SEWING MACHINE that I love! I looked all over the place for a cheap one, they usually range from $300 to $400, well I found it on ebay for a whopping $71 and that included shipping so I bought it immediately and it's great! I LOVE IT, and I plan to make many more quilts and I'm venturing in making some dresses for the girls for the upcoming summer. It should be interesting and fun! I can't wait to sew, sew, sew!

Here's the new machine....

It's the singer 7442 and it's fully electronic and has 80 different stitch functions!

Here is a pile of about 150 5x5 squares of jeans that are for my next quilt for my little girl Nevaeh, then it's Mikayla and then Alex. I let them each pick out the colors and fabric they wanted to match the backing of their quilts and they did a good job, I can't wait to see the finished project and neither can they!

Here is another pile of about 35 squares and the pink material that I've cut to add to the squares for Nevaeh's blanket. Her favorite color is pink and this was one of the fabrics she chose. I love it!

I'm sorry for the lack of blog comments I've been giving, I haven't even had time to blog hop on my phone... I will catch up someday and I will be back on track in no time!

I know... It's been a while, but it's been crazy around here these days. I mentioned that I had been working on a special, secret project for Christmas. They were the gifts I gave to my sisters and my best friend. It was a huge jump out of my comfort zone of scrapbooking, taking pictures and doing easy crafts.

We had the unfortunate event of losing my grandmother in October of 2008, she was a great person, one of the kindest and happiest people that I will ever know in my life. I will be eternally greatful for being able to know her and love her and be loved by her. She was a crafter, she crocheted, she knitted, she sewed and she always had amazing works of art in her house that were all done by her. She was and will always be an inspiration for me. One thing that I will always remember is going for sleepovers at her house and she had these huge jean quilts on the spare bedroom bed and they would be so heavy and I loved to sleep in them because it was so comforting for me.

Well, a few months ago while cleaning out an extra garage, my grandmother found three boxes full of jeans. They had been there for decades I'm sure and I'm also sure that my grandmother had ideas to create these jeans into more quilts. Although she wasn't able I thought I would take a try.

Although it was an ambitious venture I knew that I could do it, I gave myself a short deadline, a goal and I was inspired by my grandmother. I knew that I could do it. And I did, I created 3 blankets for my very best friends in my life. Two of which are actually sisters and the other was for my best friend that I've known for over 15 years. All three have always been there for me and they were always comforting to me just like my grandmothers blankets were so I thought I owed them something.

So I knew the top would be jeans, the bottom I bought a fleece in the color that I thought represented each of them. Purple for Lena, Blue for Yvonne and Black for Ramona. The two for Lena and Yvonne have the same design over the jean because it means a few things, the tree of life and family tree. I got the idea for the tree design from a stamp I saw on a stamping blog, if you recognize it let me know so I could give credit for it. However, it is modified so it was a mirror image and easier to cut.

You can click on the images for a bigger view, the one above is turned to the right. The bottom is a full view of the tree as it was on the blanket.

This was the purple/flower cutout for the first blanket, I don't have a picture of the blue cutout, only after it was on the jean top.

This is the blue quilt for Yvonne, don't let the pattern of the tree fool you, I'm not THAT good, it's a pattern that looks like patchwork and it's only a full piece.
This is the completed top of the purple quilt for Lena, the pattern is purple flowers.

Yvonne's blanket had a different layout of jean squares and rectangles but the top tree is the same. I had drew the trees on the back of the fabric and cut everything by hand and sewed them with my mom's sewing machine. Here they are together, it's not a great picture but you get the idea.

This is my friend Ramona's blanket, it was also inspired by a stamp, it's random and I'm glad she liked it. It's a pale pink with black flowers on the fabrick but it looks almost white here.It's backed with a black fleece and I added two hearts to the right top side, I used to sign these little hearts with my name in high school and I thought it was a good memory for us. We're both only 28 and we've known eachother more than half our lives.

And here is an up close of the stitching and the fabric. I hope you like them, I hope they like them. They were worth every minute of making them and I'm glad that they have a piece of me and my grandmother with them, keeping them warm, comforting them and inspiring them for new creations.

My girl... she has the biggest Heart ever!

I've introduced you to Mikayla, my middle daughter quite some time ago, I hate to brag but this girl has a heart of gold. She has an imagination that soars, a mind that doesn't stop learning and a heart that not even her mother can learn from. Mikayla has NEVER had a haircut in all her six years of life, I have been afraid, her hair is long and I was scared of the outcome. Her, on the other hand decided about a year ago that she wanted to cut off all her hair and donate it to Locks of Love where they make wigs for children with medical problems that are in need of hair pieces. It is a great organization and I'm glad my daughter participated in helping others.

So this is her before shot.... :)

Even though she didn't want to admit it, I think she was a bit nervous, that's why she's biting the lip.. haha :)

Here she is getting it all brushed out, something that is(was) always time consuming and hard on her scalp, being that her hair was so thin it often got tangles upon tangles. She was looking forward to not going through that anymore. :)

Here's the ponytail, Locks of Love need a minimum of 11 inches of hair in order to be able to use it on a wig. She had more than enough!

And the cutting began......

And continued, and I think she cut about 14 inches overall.

Right after it's cut off, right about this time I'm crying.... :(

Now it's time to style....

I know... she looks a little scared but she was laughing at me for crying, she was more than enthused! :) And the RESULTS below!

CUTE! I love it and she loves it and I'm sure some other little girl will love it! Thanks Locks of Love for having such a great organization!

Is that only today or everyday? Haha, well I had a long weekend, enjoyed the holiday, I have yet to upload any pictures, so sorry! But I'm here and thats all that matters, right? Yeah right, you all want pictures, maybe tomorrow.. :) MAYBE. Anywho.... the weekend was long, did some shopping, cleaned the house and was basically lazyyyyy, oh yeah and I totally got addicted to this thing!

I cursed my husband for buying this darn Guitar Hero thing for the Wii, I figured the girls would be so glued to it that they forgot they had to clean and do homework and stuff more constructive. they haven't been so bad with it, a few times and they get bored if they don't do well, so they pretty much know when to get off. :) Nevaeh said she's "Rocking Out" and she does, she hits the buttons and dances at the same time and when it gets too crazy she lets dad do all the work and she just head bangs. :) Here's the hubby, telling me and Mikayla that we AREN"T better than him on this game.. I SOOOOO proved him wrong lastnight, he's angry.. the end....

Short but sweet post again, I still have tons of work to do at work and even more to do at home for the holidays... So sorry that I haven't been blog hopping and leaving comments but I'll catch up and things will all be well next week. :) Happy Holidays everyone!

My favorite little man with Santa, he unlike the girls took a liking to Santa right away! :) The girls had to walk around for a while and think about it before going to talk to Santa but I think he pulled them in with candy canes. :)

Cute! Nevaeh is finally understanding the whole Santa stuff so it's cute and adorable and she can't wait to leave him cookies and leave food for the reindeer! Neither can I! :)
Yes it's a carrot and they are inside the carrot... There is a new addition to the Botanical Gardens and everything is HUGE, it's like you're itty bitty in a large garden, it's cute! We got to go inside a pumpkin and see huge carrots like this!

And so the Reindeer had food.....

I am loving this little creation that me and my daughter Mikayla made lastnight. Today is her Holiday party at school and we stayed up late lastnight making little Reindeer Food Goodie bags for all her classmates! :) YAY... I used a little of Heather's idea of the reindeer over at Heather's Heavinly Stampations. Thanks Heather. I also saw the little bags with another reindeer somewhere, I even posted on her blog and I'm sorry but I don't remember who you are. If you see this, let me know so I can give you your credit. :)
Here's the little helper Mikayla... She did great and she loved the idea!

This is the production line for the reindeer, Mikayla said we were like a factory! haha. :) I cut all the shapes on the Cricut (Saved soooo much time and made everything perfect!) So I started with Balloons (left) for the heads, I just cut off the little balloon knot thing, I liked these cause they weren't so oblong as an oval but they weren't perfectly round. Next (top middle) were the antlers, which were really cent signs! CUTE! The noses were just little red circles and the ears (right) were flowers that I cut the petals off of.

We had some googly eyes left over from this years summer projects so they added just the right touch!

Still a few more to go over there on the right but Mikayla set it up so we had everything right on hand for each little reindeer, I did the antlers and the ears and Mikayla did the eyes and noses. :)

I got the cheap little sandwich bags at the dollar store and filled them not quite a 1/2 cup of oatmeal, some trail mix and shaved carrots. The tag says, Sprinkle on the lawn at night, The moon will make it sparkle bright, As Santa's reindeer fly and roam, This will guide them to your home!

We made 21 bags, for her class and her teacher's kids! I used the papers from a little scrap pad, folded them in half and used double sided tape to adhere them to the baggies. I think they are adorable and I hope all her friends like them!

Sorry about the absence but I have been extremely busy, both at work and home, at work... I'm actually... get this.... DOING WORK! :) haha.. Seriously, doing work.. right... now... I'm talented like that! So anyway, I'm busy at work and busy at home so no time to blog. This will be lots of pictures and lots of happiness in this post... ENJOY! :)
Halloween! Yeah I know it's December but I finally uploaded pics and this one was too cute to pass up. :) Look at BatGirl sneaking up on the bride and the Football Player..
Another too cute photo, I love that they love each other so much and get along so well. :)

Look at this guy! Don't you just want to squeeze him!?! I do... haha.. You'll see him someday playing with those Broncos, you just wait and see! :)

Here they are again, snuggling. Stinkers!The three muskateers! We took them to the parade of lights show that they hold at the Albuquerque Botanical Gardens every year. I got some great photos of them with the light sculptures.For it being so cold they sure were happy campers!I love this one! They loved this turtle!

This (below) was my drive in to work Tuesday, this is Albuquerque, it never snows, or at least not this much! Roads were terrible, we got let off work early and they cancelled school. :) YAY

And last but not least can you believe these! My sister Lena is making candy for the family for Christmas and I can't wait to eat it! These are dark chocolate gingerbread candies with jelly inside.. YUMMMM

A Cookie Filled Weekend....

I ate way too many sweets this weekend! I got little to NO crafting done this weekend, but I got cookies baked and eaten... and started on another secret project... Yikes!

So since I can't show you the secret project you'll have to be happy with cookies and ornaments. :)

Above are the cookies before frosting... Yum... I made these mini ones, they are too cute, bite size, and not enough cookie for one person. I also make an "M" and "N" for my girls names.. not to be confused with NM for New Mexico.. haha :)

Above are the frosted (with cream cheese frosting) the regular sized cookies, they were gooooody.. Were.. as in already eaten! haha. :)
More cookies? Oh no, these two are making ornaments! This was the first time making ornaments and they came out really good, I will be adding the ribbon and putting them on the tree tonight. The girls had so much fun! Here they are making all the shapes.This is the ornaments all cut out... Then I added the hole with a straw.

So after they baked we would have a place to put ribbon or wire to hang them on the tree. :)

Geesh, she's an ARRRRteest! Oh yeah don't mind that yellow fallopian tube shaped ornament. It's the dumbest cookie cutter shape I've ever seen! It's supposed to be 2 candy canes crossed, here, it's upside down but it's funny looking both ways...

These were the final product, you can click on the pictures to make them bigger.. This is something that we will have to definately do again, the girls had fun, I made the dough in advance which didn't take long, they were all together easy and fun... :)

The card that has it all...

I am so happy I won all the goodies I did in the past few weeks because they sure have made my Christmas Card making much easier! This is another card from the Cosmo Cricket stuff I won and I added some Cricut cuts and a little of what Becky and Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps sent me too.

That's why it's the card that has it all! Get it? haha :)

So the base is Cosmo Cricket papers from the Be Good Paper crafting kit again, the tag is from the Buck Naked ornaments set which I covered in the same Be Good paper. The red is the back of that paper BTW :)

After I covered the tag with paper, I roughed up the edges with some sand paper and then went over the entire front of it with cross sanding to make this effect. I cut the "For You" from the Cricut, George and Basic Shapes cartridge and roughed and inked the edges of that too. See that green twine/ribbon/stuff? That's from Becky, I thought it was going to be loose but it has a wire inside so it was perfect for this to stay in place! :)

The black snowflakes I stamped on the paper are from the Snowflakes stamps I got from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, they looked great on here! I also got a little square of the red paper and stamped another snowflake on it and added a pop up dot to it because I thought the card was missing something, so I added something random :) I love it. :)

Do you like the new layout? Can you see everything right? If not let me know and I'll mess with it again, it'll take a little getting used to on my part but I love it! It's Christmasy and I can keep it after the holidays because it's still "crafty" looking :) heehee..

And besides.. it was a pain in the butt just to do this and update everything now.. By the way my counter thing is still screwy, I'll have to fix that at home... darn!

On to the card... Everything is Cosmo Cricket from the great batch of stuff I won a few weeks ago.

White card base... now that I look at it though I should have made it creamish color.

The "h" is from the Be Good paper crafting kit, I just roughed up the edges and dabbed black ink along the edges.

The ornament is from the Buck Naked Ornaments of Cosmo Cricket, I covered it with some Be Good papers and did the same roughing and inking of the edges. I also added more pop up dots to the center line of the ornament.

I think this is a better view :)

The ornament has a tie or some straw stuff I got at the $1 section at Hobby Lobby. The Happy Holidays sentiment I cut from one of Christmas Cards I received last year and I just inked it up with a sponge to make it match. Tell me what you think! :)

Great mail and my crafty evening... (2Sketches4You)

We'll start with the mail I got yesterday, I was waiting anxiously for it of course, it was SIX sets of stamps from Sweet n' Sassy Stamps for crying out loud, SIX!

Here they are in all their glory! They sent me cases as well and they were labeled! How's that for organization! I love them!

These are toooo cute, I love those little birds and all the sayings. It's a little hard to read them but I tried and you can go back and check here for all the info on the ones that you see here and more.

These snowflakes are beautiful and I used them lastnight already, so I'll be posting that card tomorrow.

These are the cute little Funny Farm stamps, They were mainly for my daughters but I will be "borrowing" them :)

Doodle flowers! I love these too, I like allt he swirl action going on with them. CUTE!

All my holiday sayings, they are going to be used well and often this weekend as I attempt to finish my cards! :)

Chocoholic, my mom loved these, we are both addicted to chocolate so it suits us fine :) Aren't these allll amazing!?! I love them and they have officially got me addicted to stamping as well as everything else I do! :)
This is our tree! We finally put it up two days ago, we were slacking, but I'm glad it's up and done and all the presents are wrapped too! :) yay! It's a bit blurry but it's still cute!:)

Now for one of three cards I made lastnight for 2 Sketches 4 You sketch this week.. :) Yes, Three I made lastnight! I was in the zone so I kept on going and then still had energy to clean my office! :) Yikes...
I made this from all the wonderful stuff I've won lately. All the papers and ribbon is from the goodies I won from Becky. CUTE!

I just layered all the solids and added the ribbon on the left, I love how the green in that ribbon stands out! I used the same ribbon to tie the top of the stocking.This stocking was from the winning over at Cosmo Cricket, I covered it in the blue paper from Becky, smoothed out the edges with some sandpaper. To the top I added some glittery paint and topped it with some matte finished glitters. I used the snowflake stamp to get a few snowflaked, I added some dimension dots to them so they stood out and where they overlapped off the edge of the stocking is where I cut them so they looked like a pattern on the stocking. :)

You all know I hate Mondays, I can't stand mornings and well.. it's Monday morning, so double the fun!

Updates.... NOTHING CRAFTY! Ugh, and I'm still tired to the bone!

Friday I did nothing but be lazy and watch Disney with the girls.. YAY--oh yeah I got my hair cut, trimmed and back to layers, I was trying to get it to grow out one length but it was wayyyy too flat and not working well so I cut it. :)

Saturday I was lazy again, or as usual I should say, my husband got out early and we went to Santa Fe to stay at the new Buffalo Thunder Casino/Resort for our late celebration of our 3rd Anniversary... :) It was nice, we had a great dinner, some drinks, listened to some live band action and laughed. It was a really nice time and I'm so grateful that my husband thinks about outings, anniversary stuff, getting away and just taking time for us... Because sometimes I'm quite happy just to stay home and do nothing, I am in a sense a home-body... :) I like it, but I'm glad he drags me out of the house sometimes!

There were a few things I learned on this night away trip. 1.I learned to play blackjack, for reals! I mean I always knew the concept, could probably play at a home-game type thing, and I knew how to play the electronic version, but my husband encouraged me to learn the whole heart of it and play at the tables! Big deal to me, I'm scared of the tables, scared of the possible addiction, and scared to LOSE. I'm not a good loser... But I WON! I played well, my husband was excited and I had fun so it was worth the learning experience, and 2. My husband knows how much I care about my scrapbooking and savoring all our precious memories.. He's in the past noticed that I keep little tidbits of trips and things, he managed to pick up a card and menu at the nice place we ate, some stuff from the hotel and kept one of our hotel keys, and while we left he gave them to me and said... here... for your scrapbook. :) I teared up... I love that he thinks about all the details! :)

So yesterday, we drove back home (about an hour's drive--not so bad), we stopped to shop around at some local stores and went grocery shopping, yeah we totally know how to have fun without the girls... grocery shoppingggggg :) hahaha...

Last but certainly not least I got an award from the wonderful Heather over at Heather's Heavenly Stampations!

I love the cuteness of this award! :) Don't you just love the colors? Thanks Heather! I found her while I was blog hopping and I'm so glad I did, she has so many creations and inspirations to share and I love it, I drop by daily almost! :) I'm supposed to send this to 6 people.. so here goes:

Geesh I think I skipped a few days blogging this week, I have been swamped at work... I am TIRED! And I get to go away tomorrow for a little night's getaway with my husband to celebrate our 3rd anniversary which was on the 3rd! I'm so tired I don't even remember if I mentioned it here and well I'm too lazy to go back and check either!

So I told you I would let you in on the news from what else I've won lately. Not the lottery! DARN! But I did win a copy of Lipstick Jungle from Andria over at Goebelski-The Story of the Goebels 5 which also included some Maybelline Eyeliner, Mascara and Lipstick! YAY! Chocoholic - This speaks for itself, anyone that knows me knows that I am a CHOCOHOLIC and this suites me just fine! :) Well besides all the extra ass I have because of it, it's fine... :)

Funny farm animals for me as well, umm I mean for my girls.. I'll just borrow them! haha :) yeah right!

Snowflakes because I had a hard time finding some snowflake stamps that I really loved and well I LOVE THESE! So it was a great opportunity to get them all in a set. :)

Cozy Feathered Friends - I'm in the winter/Christmas spirit and these guys just caught my eye, they are cute and I of course love the little saying and the font of the sayings. :)

Holiday Greetings - I got these because they are also Christmasy, but I can use a few of them on other occasions so I'm flexible like that. I love all the different fonts and since I usually do more scrapping than card making I figure I could use them on both just like the rest of these sets! :)

This one is cute... Doodle Flowers, I love all the little flowers and flourishes that come with this, I thought it was whimsy and cute all together! :)

Okay you're going to have to tell me if you think Becky is crazy, because I am convinced that she has to be since she sent me all this stuff for winning her blog candy! I am estatic! Everything she sent barely fit on my desk and barely fit within range of my camera to take pictures! I just want to tell her thank you soooo much! Go on over to her blog, Confessions of a 20-something Scrapbooking Mother and show her some love for me! She is a great scrapper, she has the cutest kids, and she obviously has a heart of gold! And besides that she has the inside info on some more blog candies going on. Thanks Becky!

So this is everything, I think, I still ended up cutting off a little here and there but below are the close ups!

A scrap pad filled with 32 sheets of christmas papers and some solids! CUTE! The Inspirables are chipboard frames and tags, I can't wait to use these!

Up close of some of the sticker she sent, the pink ones are glittery and cute for my girls! Got some corkboard letters, rub-ons, and the four flowers on the left are clear stamps!

The heart stickers are felt and lovely! These are the rest of the packs of stickers she sent, I can't believe how many great packs there were!

She sent these three welcome boards for me to alter, they will be getting the names of my girls for their bedroom doors, they will love them! I can't say thank you enough! :)

I'm not sure if I've seen these before but I will be trying them out, felt pens, if you know of any tricks with these, let me know.

Up close of all the brads (left circles and flowers) and the eyelets, white and colored eyelets and the the metal tags in PINK of course!

Look at these wonderful stamps! I can't believe how great they are. I'm not sure I can detail color them both but I will be either black/white washing them and using them most definately in some way!

Look at ALLLLL this ribbon! When I opened the box it was like never ending, I couldn't believe it! Look at all the cuteness going on here, I am loving them all.
And she sent me another bag of ribbons. CUTE!

These are all the papers she sent as well, some were Christmasy and some weren't, some are double sided and some aren't but I can guarantee I'll use them all! :)

So this is the whole lot of stuff and I don't think I can believe it still.
And she sent this cute little card with one of the Changito stamps, and she told me Thank You for playing! Geesh... NOOOOOO Becky! Thank you for everything! It's all amazing! :)

I thought I was lucky winning so much of the good stuff. Let me tell you, you haven't see anything YET!

Sorry this will be a picture-free post but I've been in meetings all day and I don't have much time before it's time to go home. Sooooo I will tell you that tomorrow I will have tons of pics of all the AMAZING stuff that Becky sent for the blog candy I won at her blog.. It's great, I was in AWE! I can't believe she gave it all up! So that's first, pics of goodies, then I'll be letting you know all the info about what else I won recently and it's great! Stay tuned!

I'll be putting up the Christmas tree tonight and tomorrow is my 3 year wedding anniversary! YAY to me and my hubby... :)

WHOA! What a weekend! - VERY long post...

Four day weekends are great, don't get me wrong but it's the "going back to work on Monday" that killlllls me! It seems like I've been away from work for a month and I really didn't want to come back! haha... But here's the update for my Longggg weekend.

Thursday was lots of eating, eating and well... more eating. It was good, I didn't have to do much cooking, most of the food was brought in by family and the few things we did cook at my house were easy so no big deal. But, I forgot to take pictures! WTF?!? I can't believe it but oh well I can't go back in time and fix that mess up... So instead, here are OTHER people's pictures taken from Google images of what my Thanksgiving kinda looked like. :)

This totally looked like our turkey, minus all the fruity garnishes and that ham in the back, we didn't have ham, we do ham at Christmas. :) other than that, this is our turkey! :)

Sweet potatoe pie, humm yeah it didn't realy look like this, I just liked how all that marshmallowy goodness is sitting on top all toasty! We had a sweet potatoe casserole and it was yummy! Very good! Compliments of my sister, Thanks!

Pumpkin pie, yeah ours was like this but not at thick and I had wayyy more whipped cream on top for sure! Yeah I was rocking paper plates for dessert too, so take that square dessert plate out of there and it's totally our pie! Amazing how you can find "your" pictures simply by googling images! :) heehee..

Some stickers and ribbons to match, they will be a great addition to the cards to come!And a few tags to top it all off! I can't wait to make some crafty goodies with this! :) Thanks so much ladies!

As for the rest of the weekend... Friday was Black Friday of course, and we shopping nonstop for SEVEN hours! YES, 7! From 5 a.m. to noon! Craziness, my back hurt so much I could barely walk when we got home! Priorities! :) haha...

Saturday, we hung out with family at the house, ate left overs and watched movies, made cookies and went to the Botanical Gardens for our Parade of Lights show. It was really nice! Cold, but nice!

Sunday was saying goodbye to family headed back to Colorado and the rest of the day cleaning, laundry and wrapping 7 hours worth of shopping presents! :)

I know it's not Thanksgiving yet, but I can't imagine that I'll be on the computer blogging tomorrow, or Friday or well the whole weekend for that matter! First I want to show you the goodies I got from Cosmo Cricket! Remember I told you I won the other day. Well I already got the goodies and they are GREAT! Thanks Cosmo Cricket!

I got a pack of the Be Good papers, a pack of the ChemistryPaper Crafting Kit, and Buck Naked Alpha Buttons and Ornaments! I will be using these ASAP! :)

I made this card the other day and thought I'd share. My mom got me this great Paper Studio Snowflake Punch and it's great! It's just what I needed for Christmas cards! :) Thanks Mom!

This card was entirely made of scraps in my drawer, and I think it came out great! I added some silver brads to the centers of the snowflakes and I added some silver letters for the HO, HO, HO and I think it's so cute!

Ugh, I hate Mondays, back to work, back to school, waking up early, did I mention Back to work??? ugh..

Okay enough pouting, I did some shopping this weekend, but unfortunately I can't show you what I got because it's all Christmas presents and well.... some of the receipients read the blog so I'll have to show you later. :) I do have a card for you though. :) It went with 2 Sketches 4 You but I didn't upload it in time for their bonus sketch for last week so oh well. :) I just used Maroon cardstock from a HL paperpack... the backdrop paper (red and white) is from the discount section, I just paper punched the end with the Fiskars punch. I created 1.5 inch squares of all different papers, roughed up the edges with my Xacto...
I cut a little triangle tree and inked the edges with some brown... and Ta-Da... This was a pretty simple one.. I got the "Joy" from seom scraps and it matched well I thought :)

I know it's not the typical Christmas colors but I thought it came out good... :) let me know what you think! :)

Okay, I am a lover of Hobby Lobby by all means and they always have insane great sales, discounts and tons to choose from. The sale this week has an online coupon for 40% off one item so here is the coupon

Michaels is one that I rarely go to, the only reason for this is because it's further from my house than HL... Sorry but it's true, stupid I know but true nonetheless. However I will be going on Sunday because they are having a 5 Hour Blowout Sale and from that link you can click on "more coupons" and there are some other good coupons.

And then we get to JoAnns, which by the way I'd only heard of, they have a few on the opposite side of town from where I live so I never went, I was all about closeness being easy, convenient and let's face it, the gas prices were sucking so I wasn't going across town to save $1 on something... BUT, they just opened one close to my house! Uh Oh! haha :) I went there lastnight and it is GREAT! I love all the fabrics, the crafting section and the scrabook area.. What I also like is that they have about 6 racks of $1 items that are pretty decent for $1... I am all about cheap! :) I mean thrifty, frugal, cheap, whatever you want to call it, I SAVE MONEY! :)

2 Sketches 4 You Christmas card and some more Happiness!

OH GEESH! Where do I start??? Okay I'll save the best for last...

First off, I went through my camera, fixed some stuff, got rid of some out of focus pictures that were taking up space and I got to fit some new card photos, so double YAY! :) here it is, it goes with the 2 Sketches 4 You (#13), and I know by NOOOO means I am up to their par over on that site, they are great card makers but I thought I would throw my hat in the basket anyway. Hope you like it!
It's a pretty simple card, white cardstock base, added some green holiday paper from the sale rack at HL, it just has holiday words all over it, I love that paper! I cute the tree on my cricut, it was supposed to be something else but I rounded the bottom with some curvey sheers and added buttons!
I figured I'd also make the whole thing look like a present so I added red swirly paper as a bow and the center of the bow is a white, square brad..
Side-ish view shows all the dimension, I popped the tree up on dots and the bow is really full of life :)
Another close up of the bow and my Merry Christmas writing, regular Gel white pen and a steady hand! :) And below is my card from the other day, the other picture was really bad so this is a better one, and I think I'm not liking the black so much so I may redo that with white or something else... :)
I just think it's missing something... any ideas?

Next is the completely awesome news! I won again! Can you believe it? Cause I sure can't! If you've never been to the Cosmo Cricket blog, you don't know what you've been missing! They have wonderful ideas, great stuff, giveaways, and jokes along the way! I love it... and I won all the stuff to do this crafty project.... I will be making this... or something very similar! :) And I will post it when it's done. And if that wasn't good enough they said .... I think the winner will also need Buck Naked Alphabuttons and Ornaments and something new to get excited about. I think maybe a Chemistry Paper Crafting kit would do the trick! So that's a lot of great goodies coming my way! I CAN'T WAIT! I'll post the pics when the stuff arrives! :) Now I need to check my lottery tickets!

Beginning my Christmas cards... finally!

I started.. One down, about a million to go! Geesh!

I am so late in the season this year for everything that I'm about to go CRAZY! I usually have all my shopping done, wrapping paper bought, etc., I have YET to buy ONE single present! ugh... I am ashamed...

So last night I really made it a point to stay up late and get at least one card done, and I did but the picture stinks! I am going to work on cleaning out my camera pics and posting some good pics, these BB pics are killing me!

So here it is...

White card stock for the base, I got this red printed paper on the sale rack at HL (which by the way is having another great sale this week, 50% paper and lots of other goodies!) White chipboard letters that I love!
The flower thing was cut from the cricut, an asteric, and three circles that I ended up trimming down with some crazy edges scissors... I added the black for a punch, I thought it would be different... These pics are really horrible.

The trees were cut from the cricut, I popped up the two on either side with some pop-dots. I roughed up the edges of the circles on the flower and the red paper, then I used my water paint pen (black) and went around the edges of almost everything. What do you think?

And my question for the day... How many cards do you typically send out every Christmas?

Nothing but nonsense

I have nothing to post about but I'm in the mood to write... so what shall we talk about? The upcoming holidays perhaps? Thanksgiving at my house! Christmas not planned yet, or maybe we should talk about the fact that Christmas is right around the corner and I have yet to buy presents, make cards, create a list, anything!!!

I am sooo behind. I am scared that I might not catch up. I'm usually done by now, DONE as in completely bought everything for everyone I was going to buy this year! Today, nothing bought, money is tight, so I hope my family likes Free Homemade Cookies for their presents. :) YUM

Maybe mine won't look this good but it's worth dreaming about! :) So my question to all of you (yeah all 2 of you that read this blog) is since the economy pretty much sucks right now and maybe it's not the best of financial times are you still going out and splurging for Christmas OR is it all cut back this year, crafty or homemade gifts?

Veteran's Day Rememberance

I know.. A day late but I had some complications getting online yesterday, as in I didn't work, as in I was working on presents and as in we had a family emergency... So happy late Veteran's Day to all the Veteran, past and present, to all the active members of the military, and to all your families! As a vet I know that Veteran's Day is huge thanks! Giving a thank you to someone may not always be as easy to let out as everyone thinks. But how do you thank someone that has risked their life, their career, their future just so you can be free, so you don't have to fight?? It's hard and I never realized it until after I joined the military. I joined the Army in 1998 as a Junior in High School, even then I didn't realize the risk I was taking, I figured, college money, traveling, meeting new people--The End...

Wrong! I was in Germany when 9-11 happened and talk about a world turning upside down in a heartbeat! It was a day most of us will never soon forget. Being in the military at that time was the hardest part of being in the Military. I never imagined something like that happening. Before that day I never thought of my enlistment as a risk, I never thought that I would be affected by it like that. I was wrong and I realize that for whatever reason someone joins the military, they are 100% putting their lives into someone else's hands, they are risking everything for everyone else's freedom. After 9-11 everyone had a different point of view of the military and who served and I'm glad it was a huge eye-opener for everyone to see what the Soldiers do for them but I am sad that it took so many lives for everyone to wake up.

So a HUGE thank you to all that have served, that are serving and who will soon serve because we are eternally greatful for your contribution to OUR freedom and the futures of our children!

Shopping and tiredness....

I did some shopping on Saturday and forgot to tell you all! Well I may have told you but I didn't add pictures. Not that these pictures are great but they're pictures. haha :) So Hobby Lobby had a great sale last week, as always and another one this week. But I hadn't purchased any scrapping stuff in a while so I loved what they had and I had the online 40% off coupon so this is what I got. Above are 20 sheets of alphabet chipboards, TWENTY! 2 sheets of each rainbow color, they were $9.95 but with my coupon got them at about $6.00! SCORE!

Next, was this paper pack, 180 sheets by The Paper Studio, I love these packs because you get so many all together without having to thumb through tons of paper stacks! Regular $19.95, my mom used a 40% off coupon for me and almost half price--ta-da!

I think this one has about 100 sheets I don't remember, ki Designs paper, regular $11, went back and used a 40% off coupon and about $5.50, woohoo! :) Then I went over to my in-laws and they had this bin of old ribbon that they won't be using anymore and they gave it all to me! :) FREE! I love free stuff! :) Thanks!Thennnn this happened! My girl, not paying attention (looking at the T.V.) decided to run into a half-way opened door and BOOM! a HUGE knot on her head, purple, red, blue, swollen, LOVELY! Way to go Mikayla, way to go!

So the tiredness comes from working around the clock on Christmas presents, I will post pics of them later, but they are a secret so not yet. :)

Weekend update

Not much is going on in my neighborhood. How about yours? Saturday we did some window shopping, I say only window shopping because the "going out of business" sales that are going on around here aren't so great. When you switch a $27.99 kids shirt to a low, low bargain price of $26.49, it really doesn't make me want to pull the debit card out.

Frustrated. Yes. But having money in my pocket after 6 hours of shopping is great! Although I didn't go home with much, it was nice to get out of the house.

Saturday I made this quickie card, horrible picture I know but I hope to have my good camera up and running soon. :)

These pics are possibly as bad as they can get, they do my little card noooo justice whatsoever! I hate it, I really want my kodak back! Curse you Blackberry with little zoom and no focus ability! Curse you! I feel better now having got that out of my system... ugh. So the card was quick, those green strips to the left is the solid color that is also the entire inside of the card, I rounded the edges, added some buttons to form a "flower", added white chipboard and ta-da... nothing to it.. except horrible pictures that is.. ugh. someone... please... buy... me... a... NIKON D80... I'm just sayin'.. haha :)

I've been out of the blogging world for about a week for some personal leave. Today though, I'm back and not in full swing, I'm tired, I'm cold and well grumpy a bit.

So this will be quick and to the point, Halloween Pictures of the girlies, well two of the girlies because the oldest was at her "other" house for Halloween so I missed it. Darn!

Again.. picture quality... NOT.. GREAT~!!!! ugh.. forgive me..Actually this picture (top) is great, why? Because I didn't take it, I got it from my cousin! Thanks Jen! :) But there they are, Nevaeh is a blushing bride and Mikayla is the great Batgirl...And seperately..... (ROAR) or is it screachy? Like a bat?? who knows.. My bride.. geesh I got to get my camera working! ugh.. I can't stand it, blurry pics! And my nephew, Nate, none other than a Broncos player! He refused to wear the helmet for pics! Little Stinker!Candy anyone? Geesh, people sure are generous now compared to when I was little! hahaI can't forget Amora, the bumble bee.. She was too cute! Un-masked little stinkers!

Horrible Blog Candy Receiver!!!!!!

Geesh! Maybe I should take a blog etiquette class cause I totally suck at giving props to blog candy givers!!!! UGHHHH, I'm sooooo sorry Damaris!!! She really rocks! She has a blog, you may know it, Within the Corners of My Kitchen which is an excellent source of great goodies, great recipes and well she's just great.

So the point of this post is that she gives some great blog candy and well I WON one! It's so cute and HORRIBLE ME, I forgot to give her props and post about it. Well I didn't entirely forget, I created a post about it and then took the pictures later and forgot to add them to the draft and post it! Crazy I know but it was around the time my camera was out of memory and I switched jobs... hence the bad BB pics. ugh.

So this is what I got, with my girls in mind and they loved it. Damaris has these random giveaways and this one happened to be from an online store she liked, called Kung Fu Cowgirl. The bag is adorable and it's about 3x5 and it was stuffed with goodies for the girls. Old school stickers, remember these? Scratch and sniff? haha :) love em'
Then another little sticker and a rainbow-ish ring that Mikayla loves! :)

These cute buttons that I wanted to swipe to put in my office but the girls decided to add them to the straps of their backpacks... CUTE!

And of course the cutest are these earrings, two sets, pizza and cupcakes! Love them both but I have to work on getting the girls to peirce their ears without crying bloody murder and having me walk around the mall for an hour trying to convince them to peirce the 2nd ear! yeah it's happened... I'm still crazy about it, can you tell? haha

So aren't they the cutest things you ever saw? I love the cupcakes! especially cause they're chocolate I guess! :) So there you have it, curse me, scold me, tell me how horrible I am to not have posted this earlier, but I want to tell you that I did email her as soon as I won and told her thank you a few times! :)

HSM3 Movie Review

WOW! On Friday I told you all that I was taking the girls to go see HSM3, that's High School Musical for all you non-Disney people.....My girls had October 24th (HSM3 release date) etched in their brains because they wanted to see it sooooo badly. Even my 3 year old knew it was coming out and she just knew she had to be there for it.

I bought the tickets online so I wouldn't have to wait in line at the theater, I also wanted to suprise the girls. I knew it would be hard since they knew exactly what day it was... But I did it anyway AND I pulled it off! hahahahaha

How'd I do it??? I'm tricky thats how! I told them we were going to see that Chihuahua movie, not sure the name, but when I told them that booooyyyyy were they upset! I couldn't trick the littlest one though, not sure how that happened, but she was pretty much convinced from the get go that we were watching HSM3, no buts about it. Mikayla wasn't extremely unhappy because she figured she would end up watching it one day soon, so the Chihuahua movie was okay with her. But Alex, no way, talk about an angry 9 year old that planned on staring at Zac Efron all night, whew, if looks could kill! hahaha..

I'm not sure how they didn't figure it out, we went an HOUR before showtime to sit in line, we had to runnnn to the theater once the guy took our tickets, the entire theater was packed, I mean PACKED with 12 and under kids and a row of 17 year olds... Mikayla said... whoa there's alot of people that want to see this Chihuahua movie huh mom? haha.. I said yup!

All the movie trailers went on and on and on, and finally the movie started, I think they thought it was another movie trailer but then the SINGING commenced! Yikes! They totally owe me! The show had a positive outcome overall though, yeah the singing was a BIT cheesy, the acting wasn't 100% up to par, but overall the true meaning of the story was great, it encourages young people not to "follow the crowd" and to be individuals and to make their own choices. It was a good movie, great choreography, etc. but I think for ME, the singing was a bit much at times. And well it's the so I won't say it's bad, it's a good movie for kids and all three of mine sat and watched intensely through the entire hour and forty minutes of it; and they sang and danced along as did much of the kids watching the show. :)

Okay the next story is long but FUN nonetheless. We were sitting watching TV last night about 9:30ish and the door bell rang. Hummm who could it be??? I sent the husband to go check it out, and who is there??? NOBODY! NOBODY at all can you believe it? BUT, they left a gift, (imagine picture here) it was a halloween cup, filled with candy and a scarecrow on a stick, with a paper attached that read:

The "Phantom Ghost" has come to town to leave you some goodies, I see you have found.
If you do not wish a curse to fall, continue this greeting, this "Phantom" call.
First post this "Phantom" where it can be seen, and leave it there until Halloween.

My first question is... Am I the only one that has never seen this??? If you have let me know cause it's new to me. Second, what is a fis-bidget? Welllll.. my neighbors are.. shall we say... creative in more ways than one. I think I know who put it there and she's all about fun and games and it's neat that our neighborhood is getting involved and keeping morale up so to speak, but ONE DAY??? I mean really??? ONE DAY??? hahaha.. just kidding, I won't complain and I won't go all Humbug on you so lastnight I made these lovely door hangers which I will fill up with candy and a mini scarecrow. :)

This is a 12x12 paper, rolled into a cone, I tore off the edge so you can see the white under the orange, more Halloweenish I guess.. haha :) just go with me here..
You can see where I drew a web inside the cone, very spooky, right? :) Well I used the Cricut to cut out the BOO and the black tags they are on. I used some orange $1 ribbon as the holders, so I can easily put them around the door knob, ring the doorbell and run like the dickens! DARN.. times like this I wish I was in better shape! haha
This is the back/side of the cone. Bad picture I know but I'm still using the Blackberry to do this stuff.. sorry... but if anyone would like to get me an early Christmas present... NIKON D80 please... :) So I also cut out the black asteric looking flowers that are behind the orange flowers on the Cricut as well.
I added the letters to the tags with a glue stick, and then added a little straw stuff to one of the tag holes on each letter.
The flowers are primas and I used the cropadile to add the centers and make them all stay on the cone.
These little guys took the longest of all, I had to free hand 4 of them, 2 for each cone and I only adhered them in the middle so the batty wings can look like they were flying! :)
So there you have it, that's what I'll be doing tonight... riiiiiight after I get home from taking my girls to see High School Musical 3! Lord help me! :)

Quick (crafty) Post...

This is going to be quick, I have about 10 minutes to get this all typed up before I have go to training for work so bear with me if it's choppy and crazy. :) I actually got something done over the last week, ONE thing but it's better than nothing.. Right? Well my sisters birthday was on October 15th and I hadn't seen her but I made this card and was able to hand deliver it this weekend.. Her favorite color is purple so that's why it's so purple--y.. :)

Regular purple cardstock, tore some of the same base color for the center of the inside strip, I got a few different purplish patterned papers to line the torn edge with.
The purple flower is Prima of course, white grommet inside and I cut strips of white cardstock to make the background flower, I frayed the edges with a sharpie and ta-da. :)
I added some chipboard for the "happy" and I wrote in Birthday in a white pen, I love it!I got a matching paperclip to add the gift card (itunes) woohoo, and I added her name with some new sticky letters I got at Hobby Lobby.. :) Yay.. The colors aren't all purple but they make the inside pop! :) I added my sisterly words to the inside with the same white pen. It came out wayyyy better than I imagined it. So I'm happy.. Let me know what you think! :)

Okay, I have a lack of pictures, craftiness, mojo, you name it, I've got a lack of it... yeah that doesn't even sound right but oh well... I'm going with it.

So... no pictures because I still have yet to either develop all my 1800 pictures on my SD Card or buy a new, clean, crisp card... So even if I did have cool, out of this world craftiness to show you, I would still have no way to actually show you... unlesssss I got all techno-smart and actually used my blackberry to post. But we won't get into that, I have no room on my camera and that's that. :)

Okay so other news, go on over to Stampin' When I Can and check out the ENTIRE blog, it's worth it, I'm a lurker there... she sends me to great crafty blogs allll the time, and she's having a 2 year anniversary so she's going to give some blog candy. Be there or be square!

Other stuff is that I always read Lauren's Blog... Love it! She really does amazing work. Well she's been getting ready for a craft fair, and actually they need to be ready for her because her stuff is great! She's totally going to sell out. Most of all I love her little Sour Cream Containers and well she found them over from Beate's Split Coast Stampers place where she now has a tutorial.

These are the one's that Lauren did, I stole the picture from her blog.. hope you don't mind Lauren..... So I'm thinking I may have to try to get some of these done for stocking stuffers this year.. :) What cha think?

ANNNNNDDDDD last but certainly not least, in personal news... I'm going to be an AUNTIE again! yay! Congratulations to my sister Yvonne, she's pregnant with bambino numero DOS! :) or maybe two and three! :) (fingers crossed... waiting... anxiously...)

Okay so nothing crafty today but I am happy anyhow... Why you ask? THIS is why.

Can you freaking believe it???? They've been having gas wars here in Albuquerque and some mom and pop shops got to $2.85 last week and I came to work yesterday to see this one at $2.75! CRAZY! I love it, that's how it needs to stay, I mean it can go down if it wants but that almost $4.00 stuff was driving me nuts! It was almost costing me more to drive to work than I was being paid to be AT work...

Anyhow this whole economy thing has got me angry, upset, frustrated and second guessing all my decisions! I hate it, you know what I wished for on my birthday??? I wished it would all be over! ugh!

Birthday weekend!

Wow! I just have to say first and foremost, I am convinced to the tenth power that I married the best man ever! I don't know what I ever did to deserve him but he is the greatest, EVER!
You see, yesterday was my birthday - yay! happy birthday to me!---and my husband created a suprise Birthday Party for me on Saturday, shocked, yes, why? Because 1, he's not a very good liar, as in he can't keep secrets at alllll, and 2, he usually alwaysssss waits until the last minute for holidays and birthday stuff.

But this time, he planned in advance, he called people, emailed, harassed people for other people's information, he had people drive 3 hours, and he had a suprise party for me! Impressed is what I am! Happy, overjoyed, Loved, and even more crazy in love with him than ever! He truly was a blessing to me when I met him 6 years ago and I never really knew why, he always went out of his way to make me happy and 6 years later it's the exact same, and I love it!

Soooooo, the party was a success and great and the food was delicious, but I veared off the diet road that day, but I'm back on track--oh by the way, I've lost 12 pounds! Woohoo!

I still haven't done anything crafty but I am getting back to a schedule now and you'll see some stuff coming soon, and I still have to work on those Christmas items that are a secret.... So maybe some more sneak peaks for that.

Middle of the night craftiness!

Talk about waiting for the last minute! My mom's birthday is today! Happy birthday mom!

I had some back problems this week and with the new job and everything I really got caught up with stuff, well I hadn't made my mom a birthday card. So lastnight after everyone went to bed, I crept into my black hole of an office and whipped this baby up!

It's chocolate brown plain cardstock, I got the polka dot paper from the sale rack at HL, I cut those chocolate brown circles on the Cricut with the Making the Grade cart. The flowers are Prima and some Costco centers. I recycled an old card for the inside greeting and ta-da. Presto!

Also I hadn't posted this layout yet. It's a pretty simple one of some dolphin pics. Pink paper, some torn strips and flowers.

I used the front of the paper (flowers) for the strips and the back (stripes) for the matting and details like the arrows. The flowers are primas topped with a button center.
These stickers are like little stamps with the scallopped edges, cute! They matched so good I couldn't resist.

Geesh it's been a long time! I know, I know... but I warned you, I told you I would be gone for a while until I got the new job situated and everything. Well I'm back now and you'll be sick of me before you know it! :) I haven't done anything crafty lately, I lost my mojo for a while and this weekend I put my back out so I was pretty much immobile. I found out yesterday that I have Rheumatory Arthritis in my back and a Degenerative Disk Disease so it will flare up and I won't be able to move....

Moving on, I will be scrapping this weekend and working on a Top Secret project. :) Okay I may give hints... they're HUGE Christmas presents... :)

Anywho, I'm here, I'm alive, I'm aching for some mojo and I'll be blog hopping. :)

Not many words can express the feelings of hurt, anguish, terror, anger, sadness and everything beyond belief on that freightful day. My heart goes out to all the families that will never forget all the important numbers on that day, 9-11-01, 8:48 the first tower was hit and 9:06 the second tower was hit. Where were you? I was serving in the Army, in Germany, away from all my family and unsure what was coming. That was indeed the worst feeling in my life and I hope I or nobody else ever have to go through that again..... We will never forget.

We will never forget the Soldiers, Fire Fighters, Police Officers, Civilians, Bystanders, children and so many others that lost their lives on that day. Unfortunately we will also never forget the images that burned into our minds, the feelings that we had that moment and for so long after that remain in our hearts. We will never forget that we were attacked and that we let down our guard because God gave us the strength to trust. He, however gives us the strength to go on and we will do that, stronger than ever and UNITED!
Thank you for remembering and never let them be forgotten. My prayers are with you all!

A page and MORE concert pics!

I can't believe I have a page to show you, it's been a few days since I did anything crafty-ish... :) So here's the page then the concert pics (these pics are better than the others I think). This page was a simple one, I actually just kind of threw it together.. sad I know but I'm tired... :)

The polka dots I love because they are different colors that I wouldn't normally match, the striped paper is the back of the polka dot paper, got them in a paperpack from Lakeside. This chipboard was from a huge collection that I got from Michael's on sale.. cute.. and the Remember when was a little cutout on the same polka dot paper pack... I stamped the blue parenthesis on the blue paper then on cream colored paper and popped it up with some pop dots. I added in some journaling... Ta-da... easy cheezy...

On to the concert pics. These came out a little better but you be the judge... we'll go Sony (yesterday) against Kodak (today). :) There she is... dancing away...

Okay, how's this for work??? I told them 2 weeks ago that I was giving my 3 week notice! THREE WEEKS people! 3! So this is my last week, I end working here on Friday, I am all of a sudden, out of nowhere BOMBARDED with work!!! Where was this work when I actually needed something to do??? eh?? anyone??? eh? Is this thing on? EXACTLY!

Other than my frustration level peaking all time highs around here, my weekend was GREAT! My girls would agree that the concert was so... much.... FUN! How fun it was for me and my mom to watch a three year old and two six year olds rock out at a concert!! Ohhhh I loved it! It made me tear up that they were having so much fun and that they got to experience it. This is Mikayla and her friend from school. Can you feel the love???

Yikes! The things I do for my girls!

I would literally do anything for my girls! I love to see them jump with glee, ask me 20 questions, bug me about projects, and most of all I love when they ask to snuggle with me.... BUT!!!!! What was I thinking?????? About 2 months ago, I was online looking at some info for my local Arts and Crafts Fair, and low and behold it was showing some pictures of the kids from High School Musical (HSM if you're cool), it said they would be at the state fair this year! Granted... I haven't been to the state fair in over 10 years!

I know, I'm terrible, since it's right on the other side of town... but you see... I have this phobia! I have this weird phobia that I will go, be inundated with tons of people surrounding me, and someone will TAKE MY GIRLS! My luck, my husband or any other family member would not be with me and I would be left holding one kid and dragging the other to catch up with the girl theif!!! Terrible I know, but that is my fear! I cannot get... it... out... of... my head! It's like, the state fair is coming, turn off the radio, don't watch TV, don't talk to anyone... in fear that someone will leak information into their tiny little brains that the State Fair is here! I know... I know.. Terrible mom! I'm just odd like that..... but it's worked! :)

Okay where was I? Oh yeah...HSM...HERE.... in NM! My girls are totally into HSM and Camp Rock and anything with Hannah Montana, and I love it! I didn't have too many teen chick rock singers when I was little, instead I listened to my sister's 80's rock band music, GO Whitesnake, Metallica, Def Leopard, etc... oh yeah and don't forget Vanilla Ice and Milli Vanilli.. haha...

Back to my girls... 2 months ago I purchased tickets to this concert, knowing that my kids would LOVE me big time for this.... Welllll, the concert is TOMORROW! I'm dragging my mother along with me to endure all the Na, na, na, na's of HSM haha... Thanks MOM! My girls are going to go nuts, I also invited one of Mikayla's friends and she's going to go nuts too! Thing is... they don't know yet!!!! Sooooo I'm trying to figure out how exactly to tell them???? I will definately have pictures on Monday!

(Actually definately is a strong word... I had pictures of my latest page today but my husband's stupid camera cord must be messed up because my computer isn't recognizing it... soooo maybe or maybe not I'll have pictures!)

Oh how I love little Penguins! Love em! They are so cute, the way they waddle and jump in the water and swim around... Then they come out and their hair is all slick until they shake off and they look all spikey.... Cute!

We saw these guys at Sea World.... I know.. When am I EVER going to be done with my pictures from this trip???? I feel the same way, I really do... I'm trying to get through them as fast as I can... believe me!
I got this blue circly paper in a pack from Lakeside, they have some good stuff sometimes and I'm frugal so the prices are good. :) So I got the same paper, cut a strip about 1/2 inch wide and folded it back and forth on the right side... Where it folded, I added a button.
I matted the pictures with bright green paper so they stood out. I cut the letters on my Cricut using Making the Grade Cart...
I popped this flower on some dots so it stood out some more.
And ta-da... you got a layout of penguins all matchy with bright green and blue! :)

In other news, I decided to delete my other blogs, the weight tracker and the layouts one... Who am I kidding? I can barely keep up with ONE blog much less THREE!!! :) And after next week I'm starting that new job so I'm not so sure how much time I'll have to blog.. Darn!

Labor day weekend photos

So I didn't do another card lastnight but I did manage to upload some pics from our weekend... We spent allllll day on Sunday at the drag races here in Albuquerque. I love cars, especially fast and loud cars, my husband also loves cars and we've got my girls into the racing too so it was a great way to spend the day. My parents went and my hubby's dad went and some cousins, we cooked out, we watched the cars and we were blown away by the jet cars as usual.... unfortunately the camera's battery died so I'm lacking some pictures.. Booooo! So sorry!

Here's Nevaeh and Mikayla, living the good life... must be nice to just chill out and relax and have the best seats in the house! :)
Earplugs and juice, that's all she needed to keep up all day! haha...
Of course we had to take the Ipod... they would have died without it.. Right? Well look at that crazy hair, that alone will tell you it was a rough day! haha.. :)
Even the dog watched as the cars zoomed by! With the clouds coming in and out this was perfect shelter for the little ones! :)
These were a few of the alcohol cars, not only are they loud but they are super fast! The fastest one was running 230 mph! Geesh, the Jet cars (which I have NOOOO pictures of) were running 299 mph! I love those things, they make your whole body shake when they go past you! Look at those clouds too! We dodged the rain all day, it was a good day for racing! :)

Wedding card.

First off, I keep saying I'm not a card maker, blah, blah, blah, but for some reason I've sure had a few cards on here lately. And another one today! This one is for Kazan's sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You. I changed it up a but with the horizontal line, I put it as my ribbon, you can see below her sketch and then my card.

Mine is pretty simple and plain, it's for a wedding, their colors are red, black and white, obviously....
The white "cardstock" is actually watercolor paper, I get huge poster sizes of watercolor paper and I love the effect it has because it's so raw and grainy... Anyway, I used that as the base because it's thick.
This red paper was some out of a 4th of July paper pack, I just cut it a 1/4 inch shorter all around and centered it on the water color paper.
The "A" is on regular white card stock, a 2x3 piece, I did the calligraphy myself and finally got it right after a few tries! A is the initial of their married last name. :) I put this white piece on another type of redish/blackish paper and rounded the corners after matting. This this wide ribbon was off of another card I got, I tucked it between the white and red paper and it is sheer enough to see the A underneath. The little chipboard on the right side was already black, I just glued it to the card, and tucked the ribbon under.
I also got my white gel pen out and traced around some of the corners of the chipboard. I think for not being a "card-maker" this one came out really good. I am proud of it.... and I hope they like it. :)

WOOOHOOO, long weekend. I love em'! I'm taking tomorrow off and we get Monday off so I'm off to have four days of scraptastic fun! I can't wait!

I want to say first that I got a new job!!! Woohoo, on Kirtland Air Force base again, I love working with the Soldiers and their families so I'm really excited about that! It's a long drive from my house but well worth it! My last day at my present job will be the 12th, so after that I'm not sure how frequent my blogging will be... :(

Anyhow.... I have another page, I'm not sure about it though, it seems like it's missing something.... hummmm Regular solid YELLOW paper, I'm not a yello fan so this is strange for me...
I got these {} stickers on the half off sale at Hobby Lobby a while back, and the Shamu was part of a brochure.
This ribbon was on the $1 rack at Hobby Lobby, it's a simple addition...
I stamped believe, but it didn't come out as dark as I wanted... Believe is the title of the Shamu show....

It seems like it's missing something but I don't know what. We'll see if I change it...

A card and a page??? Geesh!

I got a few things done yesterday and I know I'm not a card maker but my daughter wanted to make her teacher a birthday card but didn't have time lastnight since we were watching Penelope --(Great movie by the way-it had a great moral to the story). So after she went to bed I decided to suprise her with a card that I made for her teacher. I did the card late last night and the page was done a few days ago but geesh... I got two things in one day to post here! :)

First off, Happy Birthday Ms. Hernandez!This base pink circle paper is 3 Bugs from a RAK that I got from Wendy and the white polka dots paper I got on sale at Hobby Lobby. The Pink polka dots square and the cupcake I re-used from a card I had in my stash, and the flowers are Prima of course!
I used my threading water punch for the edge--man I love that thing! I added the square from the original card, rounded the edges and double taped it on.
This little tab of ribbon I also got from Wendy. I popped up the cupcake on dots, they didn't pop too high though... oh well.. it's still cute!

The HB is some of my favorite chipboard letter stickers from Hobby Lobby, on sale, 1/2 off.... I love them because you can color them or leave them white and they always look good. I added the rest of Happy Birthday with a white gel pen.

Next......The page is a layout I did using the girls pictures after a looooong day of being at SeaWorld. They were, to say the least.... TIRED! Pooped out! Wasted! Barely keeping their eyes open... Okay maybe not that bad but it was tiring! :)

Plain white 12x12, I arranged the pictures how they fit without cutting off faces, ears, parts of the body, etc. :)I put this ribbon all around the edge of the right side, I wanted it to look "rough", not all prim and proper, so I stapled it to the paper with some teal colored staples. I got a Crayola fat marker in teal and wrote their names and ages along with the 2007 on the bottom...
I also used that Crayola marker to color in the white sticker chipboard (the same kind as on the card) so it matched. I like it! :) The brown is a oil chalk that I used to just swipe over the areas so the background wasn't so white and boring... I think I might still go back and add some more brown, I want to darken the edges all around and do a thick outline of the tired? portion. :) I might have an update for this one.

What the heck is going on???? It's one of those days! Where I just want to be out of work, at home, sleeping, with nobody bothering me... recovering from a broken toe! Yeah I know, how do you break a toe???? Well a certain dog... cough... Amora... cough.... was prancing playfully in the dining room yesterday chewing on a piece of a Barbie set my daughter got for her birthday...

I went to "shoo" her out of the corner with my foot and instead slammed my foot right into the dining room chair! CRACK! My second to smallest toe on my right foot is now broken, bruised and swollen, it also got my middle toe a bit bruised! Who would've thought??!!??

Ugh, so that puts a crimp in my working out, but not my scrapping! hahahahaha..... So here's my page for today!

Again... loving the black and blue, this time I added a punch of pink! I love the way these papers tear with the solid white edge too! :)
Soooo I added some chipboard sticker parenthis to the clear bubble sticker... cute! I also used my white pen to edge the torn papers a bit, just some squiggles.
I also did my journalling in the white pen, I have a hard time adding journaling to my pages, not sure why since I can talk like no tomorrow, and write and type for days on end.... ???? anyone got an answer for me??? I added our SeaWorld tickets, cuz you know.. I save EVERYTHING! I'll have you know, I didn't carry my regular purse for this trip, I instead carried a sort of beach bag thing, it's corduroy, black, cute, and it matches everything, but anyway I have one seperate pocket that while on the trip I added momentos just as admission tickets, cute receipts, tags, etc... just for "in case"... :)

Andddddd trecking along, I still have yet to get ANY comments on my other blogs, well I'm suprised I get a few here, so please feel free to PIMP out my blogs to others, let them know I'm here and I need LOVE! Lots of it! You never know when I'll give another prize away like I gave to CAROL! Rock on Carol, I {heart} you!

Oh yeah and if you're wondering why I have pictures all of a sudden today, after yesterday's rant.... it's because I stole my husband's camera!!! Shhhh, don't tell him :)
